I'm going to just come out and say it - if you want a good place to eat, do yourself a huge favor, and go someplace else...ANYPLACE else. The absolute best I can say about Lumberjacks (or, at least this location, although I highly doubt I'll ever go to any location after this morning's breakfast disaster) is that the food was semi-decent. And, to be completely honest, even that's pushing it. From the moment of entering, to the moment of leaving, I got the impression that the people who work here must be McDonald's rejects...and that saying something, as McDonald's is known for hiring almost anyone.
The hostess had little, if any, clue of what she was doing. During the hour or so that we were there, she spent the majority of the time standing near the back waiter station, playing with her hair. Even worse, as little of a 'clue' as she had, the manager appeared to have even less. I'm not going to say he has Alzheimer's, or dementia, but it was almost as if they had borrowed him for the day from the local senior center. For one thing, part of a manager's duties is to help out where needed, when needed...yet, he seemed to absolutely refuse to help in anything, most importantly in helping the hostess in seating guests...not that there were that many guests needing to be seated, but since she wasn't exactly 'capable', he could have "stepped up" to help.
Actually getting seated took approximately 10 minutes, even though there was only one party ahead of us. This is because the hostess was too busy wasting time, talking to other servers, and because the manager who was just standing there wasn't doing anything. Once we were finally seated, our waiter came to get our drink order. Although, saying "once we were seated" isn't exactly correct, as we were in the process of sitting down when he came up, and said, "Can I get you some coffee?" The least he could have done was to wait until we were actually seated before greeting, and asking about any drink order. Obviously, we weren't ready, and asked him if he could give us a minute. He said he'd be back in a minute...and, about 5 minutes later, he finally returned, to which we both ordered coffee. Through my 2 cups of coffee, and my stepdad's 3 cups of coffee, the hottest the coffee ever was was lukewarm. Hopefully, no one ever decides to order lukewarm coffee, as I'm almost willing to bet they'd receive iced coffee.
Getting to the food side of things, the two of us ordered almost identical breakfasts, with one of us adding a sausage patty to the breakfast. Both of us had ordered our eggs 'over easy'. When we got our food, we both discovered that our eggs had been cooked almost identically - one egg had the yolk cooked completely through, while the other egg had the yolk almost cooked all the way through. I don't even want to imagine what the eggs would have looked like had we ordered the eggs cooked 'over hard'. Thankfully, the biscuits were good, and the gravy was mostly good. However, the hashed browns were definitely undercooked.
I can't forget to mention about the waiter/buser, as he was wearing enough perfume (yes, I said perfume, not cologne) to strangle a horse. Finally, when it came time to leave, you would expect a hostess to thank customers as they are walking by, exiting. However, the hostess was too busy fanning herself to take notice...
Read moreCame in for a quick bite, early lunch/late breakfast, brunch to be exact. I ordered the Eggs Benedict with hash browns and the waitress asked if I wanted gravy on my hash browns….. I was clueless and in ahhhh when this question was asked, but sure why the heck not, cause who wouldn’t and if you haven’t tried hash browns with gravy, boy you are missing out. Now my 10 year old daughter ordered a cheeseburger and fries, and this is where it took a slight turn, she brought to my attention the burger being very bland, so she asked me to taste, as I’m about to take the bite, a slight odor hit my nose, the meat was not fresh, it smelled spoiled, as the waitress passed by she had asked if everything was ok, so I described to her what we came across, with a very annoyed look as if she was the one who’d cooked the burger tells me “we make the burgers here fresh” I simply replied with “no, no my dear, that meat is not fresh” as I laughed her faced told me a different story. I saw the bill it $36 for both of us, and we did leave a tip, but it is out first and last time here, and judging by the reviews we definitely should of thought twice before stopping by here! Please read the reviews and caution when eating here!!
Has anyone else called this number back?, honestly made the whole ordeal worse, called back, spoke with I don’t remember who, did not make anything better, still would not go back to this establishment again, you sir need a lesson in customer service, once again people tread lightly when coming to this restaurant, think twice, or honestly, don’t bother….. I’m just saying, I usually give a chance when I see bad reviews, I gave them a chance, he once again said the burgers are fresh…… you can smell spoiled meat, and here I am just writing a review, calling them back cause they “he” wants feed back, what more feed back do you need, I wrote it out………...
Read moreThe service was excellent, the food was pretty good- large portions and fresh ingredients. I had the Lumberjill's salad, and it had nice ingredients, but was somewhat unsatisfying. I was looking for something with a bit more interest and some spice, I guess. I was able to get jalapeños on the side and that helped. My husband liked his skillet a lot and stepson was happily surprised to get a double veggie burger. There is one reason I will not come back to this restaurant- the music. They played; exclusively, the twangiest country music that exists. I understand that it's a themed restaurant, but I'm sure there are lumberjacks who appreciate some Rolling Stones or SOMETHING else. Rob Zombie, perhaps. Anyway, I hate country music and this was the worst of the worst. No, thank you. UPDATE: Since I'm so sick of Mexican "restaurants", I decided to give this place another try. Again, the food was good and the service was good, but the music was still bad. It was slightly better, I think, because I heard one song that wasn't country, and one that wasn't the twangiest in the world, but it was still pretty miserable for me to stay there as long as I did. I am grateful that it wasn't mariachi music, but you really have to mix it up more than that. Lumberjacks aren't cowboys...I'm pretty sure those guys in the competition on the TV's in this place listen to metal before they...
