I'd like to start by saying that the manager did make things right for the most part with regards to the total bill. That was the professional and proper thing to do, so our thanks for that. Outside of that, our overall experience was extremely poor to the point that is almost unbelievable. We arrived at about 8:30 PM with a party of six, which included four adults and two toddlers, which I asked for two high chairs. The store was not busy whatsoever with only a few other parties present. We received our first questionable surprise when the host seated us at a very small table for four. Obviously this was not idea & we asked to be seated at a bigger table in which we were at a table for 6. The server that I'm sorry to say was probably one of the worst I have personally encountered. Again, I'm sorry to say that about anyone. She was even given the benefit of the doubt where we found ourselves making excuses for her due to how frighteningly bad she was at her position; at least tonight. By now There was only one other party she was responsible for bedides ours which was a party of five gentlemen. The attention she did give to that aspect of the job saw the majority go in their direction. Granted we did have two toddlers that were excited and a little noisy but nothing out of the ordinary. That was one of the excuses we were making for her that she did not have any experience with or definitely did not have any interest in being near the kids. If that's the case she made it abundantly clear. Another possible excuse was that she was very new at the job and was just learning, but even if that was the case it hadvto be her 1st day. We were left with empty glasses for way too long for it to seem remotely normal & even after asking for more drinks we waited. Its fair that we expected more prompt attention after asking but that wasn't the case. Believe me we understand we're not fine dining taren't looking for an overly bubbly or overly talkative server, but to have little to no personality whatsoever when interacting with the guests, on top of being non-attentive is not a very good mix. Those things are outside of the other less than positive experiences we had with our food which we overcame; saucers or plates are typically provided with appetizers especially when you have multiple people in a party, which they were not. We did ask for them and received them well after we were finished with the portion of the appetizers that we did eat. I mention that because the quality of the food was surprisingly poor to include the room temperature, extremely fatty, off- tasting, bone in wings as well as the new chilis Mexican eggroll that was very different in texture and flavor. None of the food was hot in temperature. I am afraid to say that I am nowhere near finished with this very honest review because I have to talk about our entrées and if I may go back and mention that the kids menu was not ever offered and had to be requested & received at least a half an hour after we were seated. For the sake of the length of this review I will just comment on my entrée which was a fajita duo with steak and chicken. Initially, and I'm guessing due to the temperature of the metal tray the food is served on, our server only brought two of the entrées to begin with followed by the second two as well as the 2 kids' entrées. We were given caution as to the temperature of the serving tray or plate, which in all actuality I personally did not feel any heat coming off of. The metal plate must've been extremely hot though as the very small portion of rice that I was served was scorched and stuck to the metal plate but oddly enough the rest was was actually very cold. I did not notice it at first because I was not sure what it was but there was also a small cup of black bean mixture for the fajitas, I stirred it and gave it a taste and at this point not surprisingly the beans were cold or right around room temperature at best. I've been Cut off...
Read moreI'm going to quote what I said to my lunch dates- "This place is dookie." and that's as mildly as I'm willing to put it. I'm not trying to be cute or fun, I'm too old for that, avoid this place like our ancestors tried to avoid the black plague back in the day.
I'll start by saying everything SEEMED fine. I mean the restaurant was a bit dirty but whatever- the table and benches were clean so it was fine enough. We order, I ask for no BBQ sauce on my food but when we finally get our food it had BBQ sauce on it. Luckily I had ordered a side of fries so I ate those while the couple I was having lunch with ate their food. My friend ordered an appetizer as her dish- the 2 sliders were charred, the "bacon" was just a couple crumbs and her chicken had a piece of plastic on it. She ended up picking at her husbands salad and once my correct food arrived I shared that as well. Then our server, maybe a bit flustered, told us "My manger is removing the order that was messed up." as she's helping the people next to us. So naturally we're thinking, my order was messed and we waited forever for a new one plus all these other things we hadn't even mentioned to her. Because at this point the only thing we "complained" about was when I politely sent my food back because I had politely asked for no BBQ sauce in the first place, but the server had accidentally added another order to the table so we were being charged twice for it. So my friend asked to speak to the manager. By the time he comes over we had already decided to just pay, leave and never return. PERIOD. But then the manger.
This dude came over HOT! "I heard there was a problem with your brisket quesadilla!" To which my friend starts replying with something to do with us not eating there in a while and after that days experience we won't be coming back. So we start telling him about the other problems with our meal. My friends husband is in the process of paying for our meal on the little black tablet. He responds with "I'm sorry they got slammed with 280 orders. Just leave. Just get out." As he proceeds to SNATCH THE TABLET FROM MY FRIENDS HUSBAND! We we all FLABBERGASTED! Even the people around us started looking!
LET ME REPEAT- He snatches the tablet from my friends husband, who is in the process of paying (he's already put his card in and it's at the tip screen). The manger doesn't seem to know what to do with it but decides to slam it down on this pillar shelf thing behind me while my friend is saying that we'll still pay for our meal there was just a confusion with MINE and she wanted to mention the other concerns but we had already decided to leave before he came. But then he says something like "it's fine just got you haven't been here in forever so it's on me." And storms off.
Yes, a grown adult man snatched something from another grown adult man because a woman was pointing out some flaws and concerns at the restaurant he's getting paid to run/work at. None of us at our table did our said anything to make that man behave that way. Pretty sure he embarrassed himself though because he came over a couple seconds later and apologized for snatching the tablet. I hope you find...
Read moreIf I can give zero Stars I would. My daughter and her friend visited the North Olmsted location of Chili's last night. As mothers of two young boys, it's hard to get out. So when you go out, you do want to make sure you have a good time. Well everything was okay until it came to paying the bill. My daughter's friend had a gift card and a coupon and my daughter had her credit card. They were given to the waitress, the waitress came back to the table saying they owed more money and my daughter said where is my card. She said you didn't give it to me. My daughter said yes I did, the manager came over by the name of Eric Hill and proceeded to tell my daughter and her friend hey were trying to get a free meal. They need to pay the rest of it, talking down to them like they're trash. My daughter said I gave you my card, They kept arguing with her that she didn't. They had my daughter and her friend look at the trash while other patrons were eating their dinner which is totally disgusting. My daughter asked if they could have a refund on a pop for the inconvenience and the manager proceeded to say no, you're trying to get a free meal. My daughter's friend said call the police cuz this is ridiculous, the police looked at the cameras and said that the cameras were too dirty, which to my understanding the cameras are up in the ceiling, to see what actually happened which is gross and disgusting. Being accused of trying to get a free meal, when you have a gift card and a coupon, why wouldn't you try to get the whole damn meal for free? How dumb is that? The way my daughter and her friend were talked to is absurd. I work with the public, we have a saying that the customer is always right, in this case they were right. My son-in-law called the restaurant this afternoon and asked if they had by chance found a card and they had a story all ready for him saying yes we found it. It was in the parking lot when we were sweeping up. Well, you're telling me that patrons left the facility after my daughter and her friend and nobody picked up a credit card? And my son-in-law didn't even ask where the card was found, They had a story ready for him. I hope these three people get fired. Their names are Eric Hill, Jackie Montgomery and Amy Simmons. Not one person in my family or my friends will ever be visiting a Chili's location again. My daughter reached out to customer service and her complaint was escalated to the top. She's expecting a phone call within 2 days. They deserve a full refund. To talk to people in this manner is ridiculous. If you're unhappy with your job then you need to quit and don't take it out on people who are actually paying your paycheck. My daughter is generally a quiet person so I'm very glad she stuck up for herself. She locked her card and ordered a new one. All this was unnecessary stress and totally disrespectful to talk to...
