You can't rush perfection A đđđđđ review. This was quite possibly the best sandwich I've ever had, period. That's coming from someone who's favorite food is the sandwich. The bagel is that of which you can only find in the northeast, crispy on the outside soft and tender on the inside, perfectđ„Ż. All the ingredients are freshđ„ and tasteful and they do not short you on them. Perfectly cooked bacon and fried egg.
As a self proclaimed coffee aficionado, I LOVE the cold brew. (Tastes like it may be roasted over at Ocean City Coffee Co. But I'm not certain.) Smooth with fruity undertones that make it perfect for front porch sippin on a warm summer morning.
I was pretty devastated when The Breakfast Shop announced their permanent closing but I have renewed spirit after my experience with Dead End Bakehouse. I would happily wait over an hour for the kind of food they are putting out. If people were so worried about it taking long they would put in their order ahead of time and give a time they want it fired and ready.
When you're looking at these reviews and seeing Negative Nancy's only minority complaint is that it sometimes takes too long and the rest are raving about how it tastes you must wonder if people are just too impatient.
(I've got my delivery within 45 minutes to the south side of the island all 3 times I've ordered, food still hot)
Some of these "local guides" need to have some respect and empathy for these restaurants putting out amazing food, now more than ever. Imagine giving a restaurant a 1đ review not based off food, but for taking a little longer, during a pandemic. How selfish can you be, order earlier next time.
Dead End Bakehouse you are doing amazing things, I'm dissapointed I have not ordered from you sooner. You are a new staple of my families shorehouse summer routine. Thank you for the amazing experience.
PS...Shameless plug I own Concierge Digital, a marketing company, and would love to work with you all if you're looking to increase your sales. The world needs to know about...
Read moreI have been meaning to try Dead End Bakehouse for a few years and was surprised to see that it only had 3 stars on Yelp. A few different things thwarted our attempts to visit over the years: weather, Covid, even a fire!
We went for a late breakfast on Sunday (11am) and the place was pretty empty. It looked like they still had most items available, including delicious looking homemade pop tarts on the counter. I must say that I love the branding of this place. They are owned by the same group that owns Sand House and Drip & Scoop, all which have really great interiors.
I got an Avocado BLT on an Everything bagel. It may just be because I have not had a bagel in a long time, but I though this bagel was amazon. I would have gotten a different sandwich though because a BLT on a bagel is mostly bread. My girlfriend got the Honey Ham, which is Pork Roll and Habenro Honey cream cheese. It was amazing, She got it on a poppyseed bagel which really paired nicely with the ham. My friends got the Bacon & The Goat avocado toast which looked really good and was certainly a big enough portion to split between two people.
We sat outside in their bright orange chairs (love these) and enjoyed the nice day. This place is quickly becoming a staple in Ocean City. Whether you are hungover and looking for a greasy breakfast sandwich or picking up a dozen bagels to take home, this is the place for you. The location could be better but there is usually plenty of street parking along Bay Ave (or on the Dead End)....
Read moreWe stopped by here today for breakfast and ordered 2 CYO sandwiches ($9 each), 2 bagels with cream cheese ($5.50 each), and 2 orange juices ($7.50 each). I paid with my card and selected the option for no tip and no receipt, as I planned to toss cash in the tip jar after grabbing my order. We sat down outside and a minute or two later I got an alert for my Apple Pay payment for nearly $68. That was almost $20 more than what was shown when I paid inside (with tax included). I went back in to the lady at the counter, who was less than thrilled to even be there and had been rude since we initially walked in. She gave me attitude because she didn't know why it was $68 either so I had her pull up the order and reprint the receipt. After I had walked away to go outside, "someone" had added a tip to my order hence the significantly higher bill. I was then given attitude when I asked for a refund. All the while, they were pulling crates of oranges directly off the Syco truck and dumping them unwashed and with stickers on right into the orange juice machine. If you're going to charge $7.50 for a small cup of orange juice you could at least wash the things first! Overall, the employee's poor attitude and shady practices will keep us away from there...
