PANNIKIN COFFEE & TEA is Now Open Located in downtown Oceanside, this new café is located in the old Bunkerhouse building on Cleveland St. (across from the Salt Apartments)
They have a small patio-seating area in front, a bigger patio area along the side and a huge seating area in the back. You can also sit inside and enjoy the cute earthy ambiance with your meal. I appreciate the preservation of the old brick house vibes and that the decor isn't too trendy or "hipster".
I love their clean bathrooms as well and the quaint sitting area just outside.
Their menu consists of many fresh-made pastries including: cookies, empanadas, pies, cakes, croissants, muffins and more. There's also favorites like: breakfast tacos, breakfast burritos, breakfast bagels, avocado toast, lox bagel sandwiches, hue is rancheros and chicken wraps. All of this, in addition to their coffee selection that includes: espressos, lattés, teas, matcha, hot cocoa and mochas.
I can't wait to see what they do with all their space and I look forward to live music performances or maybe comedy nights.
While there are a plethora of coffee shops in downtown Oceanside, I like that this one is a little out of the way from the crowds and has less commotion than most. Also, I like the friendly service that awaits you at Pannikin Coffee & Tea.
It’s 2021 and the Bunker House Cafe & Social Lounge has reopened and also partnered up with the O’side Bakery! So what does this mean? Let me explain.
The Bunker House is located in downtown Oceanside on Cleveland St. This is such a prime location!
Firstly, there’s street parking all around and also $5 All-Day Garage Parking across the street.
Secondly, it is 3 blocks away from the famous Oceanside Pier and the beach & 3 blocks away from the movie theater and the center of Downtown O’side. This means you can stroll in either direction and enjoy all the sights & sounds of Oceanside Citylife and yet, it is just off the main strip; so you won’t be smack-dab in the middle of all the noise and riff-raff.
Bunker House has the fortune of setting up inside of one of the few remaining historic “brownstone” buildings in Oceanside and there’s a courtyard that wraps around the side-to-the-back patio. It’s so rustic and quaint with very ‘natural’ decor that fits the ambiance. Dining in the courtyard is the best for groups, while dining inside offers a little more privacy from other tables.
Their menu is pretty simple and crafted to suit the dining experience itself. I highly recommend their charcuterie boards and their flatbreads are phenomenal! They also have a nice selection of wine and the pastries are made fresh with love and are divine!
Whether is hanging out for the Live Music or just enjoying a meal with a loved one, the Bunker House Social Lounge is a fantastic addition to the downtown...
Read moreThis new Pannikin is one of the best small coffee shops in San Diego County. It's a great edition to Downtown Oceanside! They did a great job of turning this into an inviting space with lots of seating options.
No matter what size of a party you bring, there are definitely seating accommodations for you inside and outside. There is a wonderful small patio in the front and a much larger patio in the back and on the sode of the building. There is also an assortment of comfortable nooke to sit and enjoy a coffee alone, or socialize with friends.
The coffee at Pannikin has always been top-notch. You can really tell the difference in the richness of flavor in their drinks. There is a fun little gift and merchandise store inside to peruse while you wait. They offer all manner of coffee drinks, whole and ground coffee by the bag. This location also serve great food, and they have something for every diet type. It's never been a problem for them to customize orders.
The food selection is way better than most coffee shops. Not only do they have the traditional pastries you expect with coffee, but they have a robust menu of breakfast and lunch dishes, as well as a super selection of desert confections. Pannikin Cinnamon Rolls are some of the best around, especially if you get here early.
There is lots of parking all around. Some time limited parking on the street, and a huge parking garage across the street. There are lots parking options in short walking...
Read moreI don’t usually leave reviews because I understand the impact they can have on a business, but I felt it was necessary this time. As someone who also works in customer service, I know how tough things can get. But this felt needed.
When I walked in, I didn’t feel welcomed, and when it was time to place my order, the staff seemed unmotivated and not very enthusiastic. This made the service feel lacking. I also ordered food to dine in, but was given a take-out container, which may have been a misunderstanding but if not then that was a bummer. Total was $20+ for one and the presentation wasn't the best. but as said it could've been a misunderstanding.
It seems the staff enjoys each other's company and has a good time together, but this leads to distractions that take their focus away from the customers. I’m not local, so I understand my opinion may not matter, but for the business to grow and attract tourist customers, it’s important to make sure guests feel valued and welcomed.
I really hope the management can address these concerns and provide a coaching moment to the team, as it could make a big difference in the long run. On a positive note, the cafe is clean and well organized, which...
