I have enjoyed your food in the past. Honestly one of the best places in town for food. I come here a lot. The atmosphere inside is simple but pleasant. Unfortunately I was not able to eat with you this weekend because you displayed your hours inaccurately. On an 8 by 10 piece of paper, no less. Rip the paper down and put up another 8 by 10 with the correct hours so people donât waste their time coming here when you are not open. BUT even that is not why you lost two stars. You lost two stars from me because your employee sitting out front played the pandemic card. What is the pandemic card, you may ask if you care at all? That card that gives businesses the excuse to have lousy customer service and lousy overall quality all in the name of the pandemic. When I questioned why she wasnât open despite the clearly posted sign on the 8 x 10 piece of paper stating what the hours are, she said it has to do with the pandemic, weâre just trying to figure things out. Why donât you start out by advertising the correct hours. Then you can work out everything else one thing at a time. But donât play the pandemic card on me and make this my problem. Many restaurants will fail during the pandemic. Itâs unfortunate. Those who do survive will have done so through quality food and great customer service not by playing the pandemic card victimization mentality. If you really want to expand your business and make a lot of money during the pandemic, offer delivery and hire some college kid on a bike to deliver on the main stripe. No one in town is doing delivery or many refuse takeout. Yet the trolly is not running and the amount parking spaces are the same. I canât be the only one who does not want to be packed into a full...
Read moreI am completely appalled by my experience at rose cove. My boyfriend and I went for dinner on a Sunday night. The server placed us at one of the outdoor tables with a fire (outdoor only due to current covid restrictions). Our food arrived and the chicken club was completely undercooked, totally pink inside, unfortunately realizing after a few bites. We immediately let our server know and asked for our bill, he said the kitchen staff was new and went to speak to them about it. The server took the chicken off the bill and we paid. We finishing our drinks when I noticed a woman inside who seemed to be in charge, she finally came out to leave and I stopped her as she walked by to see if she was the owner. She was, so I immediately told her what happened, she said she would go in and speak to the kitchen staff. Three minutes later she walked by, didnât make eye contact with us, we were on the patio so she passed us below on the street and We stopped her. âHi, excuse me? Iâm confused why you walked directly by us after we spoke about our disappointing experience?â I said. She acted dazed and confused by our follow up. She said â well we took it off your billâ I was completely appalled by her response and told her it had absolutely nothing to do with the money. I really just thought she should know as a business owner. The ownerâs lack of professionalism and utter disregard for accountability was shocking. As she walked away her last words to us were â My mind is on to other things.â To say the least, we will never be back. I would strongly encourage others to consider other options in the area, as...
Read moreAllergy Review - 5 stars to our waitress, Samantha. She went above and beyond to accommodate my dairy allergy, but while she took it very seriously the kitchen and manager did not. When my initial meal came out with what appeared to be a layer of butter over top it she questioned the kitchen and when they could not say definitively whether or not they added butter to the sauce she asked them to remake it. She kept us up to date on the status of my order and apologized profusely and said she would take the item off our check. However, when the time came the manager insisted that was against company policy and said I ate it I had to pay for it ("it" being the second, delayed meal that came out 30 minutes after my fiance's meal). Eventually our waitress convinced the manager to take it off the check. 2 stars to the restaurant and kitchen for the lack of attention to the matter, the inconvenience in sending the meals at different times without offering to warm the other meal, and for my fiance's flatbread which he described as "more like soggy bread."
A few notes that were a frustrating, the manager not once came over to check on us - not to see how we were doing, or to check on the allergy, or to apologize for the inconvenience. Also, the "company policy" the manager referred to seems questionable to me. We're not talking about an Applebees here with corporate overhead, this is a locally owned establishment in Ogunquit. If our waitress wasn't a rockstar this would've been a 1...
