Used to patron this location/brand. Tonight was the last night. The time before tonight (being the last straw), the service is just slow like they never have enough help and the help they do have they either get over whelmed or they just aren't trained properly. Tonight was no different in terms of slow / un-friendly service. Was waiting in line, 4 people ahead. OK, I"ll wait, it happens. Only 2 employees working (as usual). Apparently there is an issue with their credit cards.... still not sure what it is, but OK, I get it, I work in IT, stuff goes down. Meanwhile, 10+ minutes goes by, still no one is being checked out because of the payment issue so they start asking the 2 people already at the counter if they have cash or can order and pay through the app. Had I not been listening, or otherwise, unable to hear, I would not have known I was not going to be able to use my credit card to pay. By the time I got up to the counter, waited some more, they FINALLY acknowledged me as a customer (my invisibility spray must have worn off), they mumble something about my online order (which I had just placed)... I let them know, had I not overheard the issue and waited over 15 minutes just to be told their cashless system wasn't working, I would have been mad. They should have called out as soon as they realized "hey, we just found out our cashless system went down"... but they said NOTHING and in all sincerity, the looks on either of their faces shows they did not even care. Their aura they give off is that customers are in inconvenience to them. We're interrupting their day. Then they didn't have lids for cups and no condiment cups. I can also tell, from the sticky levers on their soda machine, they either do not clean it or do not do a good job with cleaning. So what else do they not clean/do a good job with cleaning? Ordered 4 meals for pickup. Store had 6 employees trying to read the order back, and once read back it was accurate. However when I got home one order was missing. Called the store to try and resolve this issue and within 2 minutes of calling the employee on the other end is raising his voice, trying to talk over me, and simply not listening. I said "listen" four times, he then said "goodnight!" and hung up.
Upon calling back, they hung up immediately.
Calling back a third time, I spoke with the manager and he immediately began trying to yell and talk over me. After attempting to explain the issue again, he continued to interrupt. Finally he started hanging up. I call, he yells, hangs up. I understand how difficult it must be for a grown adult to only be making $2 over minimum wage, but good customer service is the backbone of the food service industry.
I drive back to the store and ask to speak to the manager. An employee says he is the manager, so I tell him "you are disrespectful as s". As expected, this launches a tirade of shouting expletives and slurs from the entirety of the staff behind the counter. One employee (who was white) called me the n-word (that word is extremely offensive in any context) and a "punk b*" - just for wanting to get my order correct! I have zero interest in patronizing Dickey's ever again, and left.
A report has been made to corporate and to the owner of this franchise. It's not hard to do a food service job, but these idiots have somehow found a way.
Buyer beware: do not eat here until the owner has swapped out the entire staff - including management.
edit 1: two employees tried to fight me. Luckily the manager rubbed his last 2 brain cells together and kept them back, otherwise they'd be sitting in a jail cell right now 🤣🤣 but hey, that'd match their attitudes and appearances...
Read moreWORST STAFF EVER!!! Somebody from corporate needs to put the Perrysburg location in check. Consistently rude, slow, and undertrained employees. Online carry out orders are never ready or started until you come in for pick up. A few days ago, again trying to pick up an online order, the place was completely empty at 3:30, and once AGAIN told 'oh sorry' as they pick up the ticket that has already been torn off and set on the counter, and begin to prepare it. I say no problem!, and patiently wait. Its one meal, how long could it take? one employee starts slicing the meat and getting it in the box as a second young man came to do the side dishes. He had just finished sweeping and dumped the dustpan in the trash and walked over to start the sides (no he did not wash his hands). He filled the cup so full of mac n cheese that he had to use both hands to force a lid on it as sauce oozed out and all down the container. As he overfilled the baked beans and started the same messy process I politely as I could told him its nice to be generous, but they are too full and messy to deliver in that condition. As we're talking another employee walks over, curious as to why this is all going so slow, and grabs the mac n cheese to bag it, but it was covered in goo and slipped out of his hand onto the floor. He then picked it up and PUT IT IN THE BAG!! I immediately said No...just no. I cant serve that. He just stares at me like he's considering arguing, and I said 'hey leave right in there if you want but I'm obligated to tell the customer it came off the floor'. He sighed and told the other guy to make new ones and asked him why he's even filling them like that and walked off. 15 minutes to get my order. Online orders are paying customers too.
