I’ve been going to this bakery for years now, I love the sweets, the food not so much. Has no taste, last time a friend ate Feijoada there she felt super sick after. The sweets are also lacking in taste and quality overall. The people who work there are great, the space was updated but still needs some work done. A lot of things to fix and upgrade. These people must make so much money I don’t understand how they don’t put back in their business. It used to be really good now it’s not the same… Last week I bought a piece of cake “dois amores” which I love, the cake had a very strong peanut taste, I know because I absolutely hate nuts and everything with the smell or that taste like peanuts I don’t eat at all. I threw the cake away because the peanut taste was very strong. But I started thinking, imagine a person who is allergic to peanuts, which is so common here, every place you go there’s warnings of “contain nuts” or “cooked in the same container that may contain nuts”, because this is extremely dangerous to a person who is allergic. There was absolutely no warnings at all, and even in the store you don’t see the sweets that contain nuts written out. You people should pay more attention to that, if I buy a cake who supposedly should not contain any nuts and when I eat that with a very obviously taste of peanut, I would immediately get a reaction if I was allergic. But instead the store clerk says nothing and there’s no warnings, that’s a very serious issue. Pay more attention to these details which makes a huge difference, put in more effort in the food and update the space, I wish it would go back to the way it was 3 years ago. And please label the food/sweet that contains peanuts because next time you guys may have a very serious issue...
Read moreVery disappointed. We got there and the lady behind the cashier (curly hair and tattoo on her arms) didn’t seem super thrilled telling me the different options of food they had. After making our order we sat down for 10 min waiting for the açaí bowl to get ready (we had also order coxinha, pão de queijo e soda which coulda been served before we went to sit at our table), so I got up and asked for the soda and the other food we ordered that we didn’t have to wait. Sat down at the table, pão de queijo and coxinha were cold, so I had to get up again and ask them to heat it up. They did, using the microwave… and the food was still cold. After being done eating, it took another 10 min for the açaí bowl to get ready. It means the coxinha and pão de queijo would still be sitting waiting for the açaí to be ready. I dont know why on Earth they would think that anyone would want cold food. Summary: terrible customer service and food isn’t that good. I have been to many other Brazilian Bakeries way better than this one. Apparently they only treat well the famous people who go there, who by the way are the reason for many other customers like me to go visit this place. I live in Maryland and came down to spend a week vacation in Orlando and was very excited to eat their food after all the Instagram posts from Brazilian celebrities....
Read moreI don’t know if the pandemic has taken its toll on this place, but this place was once a favorite of mine. However, last summer (2020) on the way through the portions served to us were ice cold and cashier was rude when they didn’t like the tip we gave them.
One year later (last week), visited again and received overpriced and flavorless grilled cheese sandwiches, a tasteless mango juice, but a decent espresso. Orange juice machine was also broken, disappointing as it’s not easy to find fresh orange juice anymore.
The location seems to have downsized, probably attributed to the pandemic. The washrooms and the hallway leading to them are a complete disaster, washrooms in disarray and not quite clean.
Where there used to be pictures of celebrities from brazil on the walls promoting the place, the restaurant feels less than inviting. Server was pleasant and attentive.
Hope this place can return to what it once was, I’m guessing once tourism picks up again. Food was decent enough as it reminded us of Brazil, and the salgados and cakes actually looked very good, so probably should have...
