I visited First Watch today and had an extremely disappointing experience. As a server at another breakfast chain, I understand hospitality standards and have reasonable expectations. While the ambiance was excellent and management was kind and professional, my server Schameka completely ruined the dining experience.
She took my order with barely a mumble, never introduced herself, and said virtually nothing beyond offering coffee. She literally threw straws onto the table when bringing drinks and never returned to check on me or refill my empty water glass. When my granola bowl arrived dirty with corn in it, another server kindly handled the issue and clearly informed Schameka, but despite making eye contact with me multiple times, she never came to apologize or address the problem. I was told my toast would be “right out” but never received it.
Unfortunately, I’m unable to give an accurate review of the food quality since I was unable to properly try most of my meal due to the dirty granola bowl and missing toast. Again, I’m a server so I know mistakes like that happen and no one would intentionally bring a dirty dish to a customer. What BAFFLED me is that my server still didn’t come check on me afterwards. She came to the table two times (once for the order and once for the drinks) and she spoke to me once. I wasn’t expecting her to provide me entertainment or chat about how my day was, but checking in to make sure my food was okay doesn’t seem like a hard ask.
After being completely ignored throughout the visit, I decided to pay for what little I had eaten and leave. When the manager asked which server had served me for checkout, I couldn’t even provide a name since she never introduced herself. Maybe Schameka was having a bad day, but the complete lack of basic service made this visit memorable for all the...
Read moreThere is another first watch within 10 mins of this location pls go there. It all started poorly when we were seated at a 4 top table with 5 people. When my husband asked if our daughter was suppose to sit at the corner- the server rudely said- “if you wanted a booth you could have just asked for one”. Lol 😂 no we just wanted seating for 5. My husband then was like trying to understand her logic to which she was even more rude lol. Mind you we love first watch so we understand the bustle and if they were busy we would have understood more but would have asked still- and would have waited happily for seating for 5. The restaurant was half empty. We were seated immediately. Large booths open all around us. She then walks us over to a table and shoulder checks my 12 year old. I was so shocked I didn’t react right away. I’m frustrated I didn’t call the police now. My son, like immediately hopped out of the way and apologized???? We then get over to the table. Are not given a high chair which we requested to begin with. And just sat there. 🤦🏼♀️ so finally a server comes over and we just ask to speak with the manager- total Karen I know. I hate it. Even saying it. Then after explaining the situation to the manager I said pls give us nothing for free just let us know do we need to leave? Because I don’t want to be here if we aren’t going to get taken care of. He confirmed no- service would be better. It in-fact was not. Our drinks weren’t refilled. Our server barely came by. It was just poor overall. He never came back to check in. Moral of the story not all first watches are created equal. This being one of them- go to the other ones in a...
Read moreCece (Sesilia), I hope I spelt it correctly, was an absolute star. We had a party of 7 which included 4 kids and she was patient and accommodating. Never felt like what we needed, which were a few side requests, were an issue. And that goes for the other staff that helped with our order. Very kind and pleasant. The thing only one I cannot speak for having the same level of hospitality is for who I believe was the manager or main host, a light haired man with a beard and glasses. There was a station that had water and coffee but not cups. I asked for one cup to give to one of the children water and he said it would be a minute. Made no immediate move to get a cup and just kind of stood around. Mind you, there were at least two at the front host area. And there was the bar area in which a cup could have been grabbed. Then when my wife asked another attendant for a cup who immediately went to grab a cup. After speaking with that attendant, the man came back and said towards my wife “I said it would be a minute.” I said I know but the children had asked her for water. She asked me what he said and he turned towards her and made every intent to tell her that he had said that it would be a minute. That unprofessionalism and rudeness was not necessary for the request for a cup. However, I do not want this to take away from how great CeCe and the other staff were and how sweet she was with all of us at our table. Overall not a bad location. Maybe some staff just don’t have the same level of...
