Weāve visited this restaurant about 18 times and usually love it, but this experience was disappointing. We brought family members in from out of state to celebrate a birthday.
We were told to wait 20 minutes for a table, which was fine. When seated at a corner table, we requested two high chairs for the toddlers. After standing for about 7 minutes, we grabbed the chairs ourselves. This was just the beginning of the issues.
We ordered (in detail): 2 orders of Edamame, 2 Miso Soups, 1 Sprite, 1 Fried Calamari, 5 pieces of Octopus Sashimi, 35 pieces of Salmon Sashimi, 5 pieces of Tuna Sashimi, 8 rolls (Snow Crab, California Hand Roll, Kani Naruto, Little Tokyo [No sauces], King Kai, 3 Bubba Gump [No sauces], 2 Sunshine Rolls), 1 order of fries (no chicken, specified three times), and 2 shrimp noodles for the kids. Two adults at the table have worked as waitstaff, so we understand the pressure and recognize that this level of service is unacceptable. We were almost served the wrong meal three different times (not going to be mentioned below). My brother, who was a big fan of this place, was visibly upset by the end.
After confirming our order, the waiter, Stefan, brought our waters but forgot the Sprite. We reminded him, and he brought it after weād already received our appetizers.
We received three orders of Edamame (one randomly extra) and the Miso Soups. The Fried Calamari came with the Hand Rolls, followed by the Sashimi and noodles. The calamari was oddly shaped, like a chicken nugget, and the kids didnāt recognize it, so we asked for a new one.
About 20 minutes later, we ordered fries for the kids with no chicken. Around 45 minutes in, some sushi arrived- puzzling, since we ordered it all together. We asked the waitress to name the rolls, but she only named two before walking off. She never returned, and we had to figure out the rolls ourselves. One roll was missing, and another (Little Tokyo) had sauces on it, despite our request for none. The waiter argued there were no sauces, even though the spicy mayo was clear.
The fries arrived-with chicken. The waiter showed us the order, confirming it was placed as āno chicken,ā so the issue seemed to be a kitchen mistake. Still, the waiter shouldāve noticed the error, especially after it was mentioned three times.
We asked for the manager, George. He agreed with everything, promised to fix the issues, and even confirmed that the gratuity would be removed due to us planning on tipping based on the service (which we actively planned on doing) discretion. The whole table heard his vocal agreement. The children began crying over the fries, and my brother had to calm them down. My sister-in-law was still speaking to manager and he just walks off.
We lost all hope and appetites. I ended up with just one roll and one soup for $35 after waiting over an hour. The food was consistently wrong, so what was the point in continuing?
When the manager returned, my brother asked why he left while my sister-in-law was speaking. The manager claimed he hadnāt heard, but we all did. We asked to speak to someone else. We just wanted to leave- ironically hungry after a disappointing experience.
When we got the bill, the full amount was charged, plus an 18% gratuity, despite us being a party of five. We paid $231 for a terrible experience. The manager later claimed he acknowledged what he said but was more focused on the canceled food than the actual issue. We will never return, and to top it off, the canceled fries still arrived. :D.
It felt like speaking to a wall. Theyād say one thing, then take it back. If only to show them contradicting themselves.
Avoid this place. Bad service, wrong orders, and no accountability. Never...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ABSOLUTELY love coming here!! Me and my hubby, My Sister in law and her bf come here together all the time!! I have even been here a handful number of times now, and I even come here with friends for lunch dates and girl night out dinner dates.
It's a cute place with neat decor, and their food is AMAZING!!! I have not had a single bad experience nor a single bad food item on their menu, and I have been coming here for 6+ months nows and I am a very frequent customer. (I went tonight, lol, and I didn't realize I have not done a review yet!)
All the food is hot and fresh, and perfectly cooked. All the employees are super nice and do their best. There are times we have been seated at the tables, sometimes we'd sit at the bar (we dont drink), and the service is great regardless of where you are seated. They even do cute birthday song/surprise with a dessert when its your birthday.
I have been here for lunch and dinner and all different times of the day. Regardless of how busy or not busy the place is. Their service is always outstanding! I have never had to ever wait long for a drink or any of the food I order.
They do have a different menu for lunch vs. dinner. Not all items that are available for dinner are on the lunch menu (but it's not a lot that's different between the two, and lunch still has the same amazing options of food. Some of the rolls or hand rolls might not be available, and then typically, it's habachi chicken, steak, and shrimp for dinner while lunch does chicken, steak, and shrimp is teriyaki.
This place is All You Can Eat, and lunch is typically esti $21.95/person while dinner is esti $34.95/person
My suggested items to order would be:
Spicy Crab Salad (Spicy Kani Salad)𤤠Clear Soup 𤤠Gyoza (potstickers) Harumaki (spring rolls) Any of the veggie tempuras Noodles!! (I personally LOVE the pineapple in mine) *Hibashi Shrimp š¤¤
Sushi: (I only eat cooked, sorry...)
*Spider Hand Roll or the Roll (8pcs) *Bubba Gump Roll (8 pcs) *Double Crunchy Roll (has cream cheese, 8pcs) *Double J Roll šš¤¤ (has cream cheese, 8pcs) *Yama Roll (5pcs) + deep-fried *TNT Roll (8 pcs) *Sweet Potato Roll (i think it's 6-8pcs. Flavor/type of roll is not bad. Just know its just sweet potatoes and rice, lol)
Don't forget dessert! They have fried cheesecake (good!), but my favorite is the ice cream! Their GREEN TEA ICE CREAM.... is šš¤¤š¤¤š¤¤š¤¤š¤¤ OLM, GOOD! I am obsessed!! (they also have vanilla & strawberry).
