One Thing to Clear Up first: They aren't Finnegan's, that's the Irish Place in Universal Studios Florida, Pat O'Brien's is a New Orleans food place
Food: If you like New Orleans style food, then this is the place in CityWalk for you. They have Gumbo, It has Shrimp, you can probably ask to not have shrimp though, my grandpa said it was a bit spicy for him, Jambalaya, it's kind of tomato pasty if that makes since, the rice and meat are all still there but that's the texture I got, Po'Boys, I prefer the chicken one, the bread is like a baguette, so it's really crispy, and the Cajun Mayo is so delicious, Their fries are really good too, they are shoe string cut, Their Blackened Caesar salad is good, I like the crispy onions they put on top, Their Chicken Wings especially if they use the sauce they normally use, is delicious, and the Beignets, their not thick, Their like like little puff pastries that are covered in powdered sugar, and they serve it with a Chocolate Sauce.
Service: Their really great, the Hosts do their best to get you a seating arrangement, If they can't they let you know right away, The servers are very nice, they are really quick too, really good at their jobs. The Bartenders are also very nice and make great conversation, great drinks too!
The Main Bar: Pretty Calm, and there are 2-3 TVs playing shows or sports, so if you're looking for TV entertainment while enjoying delicious food or drinks, maybe both, then this is the spot for you, They also play music on this side, not the live music from the Piano Dining Area
The Piano Dining Room: It's Calm 5-6pm (Unless It's a Holiday(St. Patty's Day)) 7-9pm (10 for Friday & Saturday) normally the busiest 10pm for weekdays and 11pm for Friday and Saturday the kitchen is closed and Open Seating becomes available
It gets loud when the pianist's play later in the night(7-when City Walk Closes) they start around 6 on weekdays, latest 7, and 7 for the weekends, as it's normally packed with a bunch of singing folks and people enjoying tunes, There's a bar for folks that don't want to eat anything, no seats though, and the Pianist's are great entertainers, they don't play classical music as far as I've seen, it's just mainly Hit Songs. Or things of that nature, you can make requests, and tips are highly appreciated.
The Patio Dining Area: Is a very Calm area, a Sky View, and the Fire Fountains, They play Radio Music for Ambience as well, it's mainly pop rock/rock music It's a good mixture of other genres too. There's also a bar out there with a TV, that you can dine at, it depends on if there's a bartender.
Cost: Now I said I spent 20-30 on myself, but I normally spend a little more including tips. I do get one alcoholic beverage and that can be $14.50-$17.00 If you are looking at beers, it's definitely less than that, for draft cocktails it's $10.50-$11.25. And a regular drink is like $4.75 and that's just Universal for real. And food can go from $6.95(cup of Gumbo)-$22.95(Redfish) (this is not including the sides)
Overall: Great and Friendly Service, Delicious Food, and Lovely Atmosphere, a little something...
Read moreI live near City Walk and enjoy coming to Pat O'Brien's occasionally for some food, drinks, and entertainment, but my visit this Friday night was an unfortunate disappointment that wasn't as good as any of my previous visits here. I hope this was just an off night and not a sign of its future.
I arrived around 5:45pm and it took around 15 minutes to be greeted by the waiter. This wasn't the waiter's fault though as it seemed like he was all alone and running around trying to take care of all of the tables and do everything himself. Obviously short staffed.
I placed my order and received my food in a reasonable time, but noticed that I still hadn't received my drink. Unfortunately the waiter forgot to put my drink order in. I wasn't upset as it happens, and he resolved the issue very quickly to where I had my drink in hand just a couple minutes later.
However, the old fashioned that I ordered came in a glass that I could only describe as the size of a double shot glass -- it was definitely not a proper rocks glass. I always order an old fashioned at every bar I go to (as well as ordered from here in the past) and have never received one in such a tiny glass. I figured It may have been a mistake, however when I ordered a second round it too came in a tiny glass. $30 of liquor later and I didn't even feel buzzed. The food was okay, but nothing to write home about.
As far as the entertainment, there was only one guy playing piano when I arrived which could be expected since they had just opened, but he said someone else would come in soon to actually play dueling pianos. This second person never showed and by the time I left at 7pm he was still the only guy up there. He did a good job of keeping the place entertained all by himself though. It's a shame to not have dueling pianos at a dueling piano bar on a Friday night.
I hope things can get better like they were in the past, but I'm not exactly itching to go back to give it another try...
Read moreTo keep this fairly short, we had been looking forward to eating at this restaurant the whole time leading up to our trip and it was a complete disaster! The main thing was my daughters chicken strips came out completely, not just a little, COMPLETELY raw in the middle! It was a little dimmer lighting in the restaurant so she ate almost a whole strip before realizing it was raw. She was SO upset and had extreme anxiety worrying if she was going to get food poisoning it ruined our night and half of our next day of vacation. It also turned us all off from eating as we couldnât trust the cooking. So no one ate dinner! We spoke to the manager and he did apologize but didnât really seemed to bothered. We had to request the meal to be taken off the bill, he did, but acted like he did us a huge favor. Honestly he should have comped the whole bill if he wanted to make it a little better and show this was unacceptable and not the norm, as this place is not cheap and no one ate dinner. Apparently they donât care about returning customers, It was completely unacceptable and so disappointing. I would definitely NEVER eat there again. There is no telling how many kids ate raw chicken and potentially got sick! The whole experience we had been looking forward to was completely ruined! Eat there with caution and know if something goes wrong they arenât very caring and definitely not compensating. Better yet, there are so many other good restaurants there, do yourself a favor and choose a different one! Iâm attaching one photo where u can see the raw part in the middle. Again, it was dark in there so it was hard to get great pics and they removed the plate from us quickly...
