Planet Smoothie — Restaurant in Orlando

I’ll start with really??

I visited this Planet Smoothie the other day and I will NEVER - EVER go back!

So my 17 month old got strep throat and I wanted to buy her a smoothie since she can’t really eat and I figured this would help soothe her throat.

I bought ONE medium size smoothie knowing that she wouldn’t drink a whole smoothie and we CAN’T share - again she had Strep throat and I wanted to drink some as well.

I asked the girl once she served me the smoothie if I could get a small cup and here was her answer:

“We can’t give you any cups, I would have to charge you $3.00 for the extra cup!”

I repeated this back to her because I was besides myself and of course she once again said this was the case.

As I couldn’t believe and took my drink she sarcastically said “thank you - have a great day!!” This wasn’t her being polite, but rather smirking, laughing and thinking this was funny!!

Well Planet Smoothie, not that you care, but I’ll never go back. I’m sure I can find somewhere better to spend my $10 (yes because I tipped $1 on a medium size $8.99 smoothie) before I was treated like garbage by your very rude and sarcastic staff. And needless to say a ridiculous policy!!

Enjoy your overpriced smoothies!! Eventually things like this catch up to you as business owners!!

This is the first I’ve ever encountered this so either it’s a NEW rule or I’ve never been charged before. But no problem.

Also, while they may have been DOING their jobs, I don’t think being sarcastic or laughing about me being in disbelief about this “rule” is part of “doing” their job. But it sounds like this is how you trained them so...

I was there, first of all you were very rude and arrogant with the worker at no time was the worker rude and sarcastic with you, she tried to explain to you that this is the owners' rule and she is a simple employee and she does not set the rules. You should have bought another smoothie cup for your baby if you were thinking about him. The worker was more polite than you at least she was kind to help you have a good day and as she wants you were rude and didn't say anything when you left. This one aplace that I frequent and to see a manager just with such a bad attitude and lack of respect is just ridiculous. The staff here is usually always courteous and makes the best smoothies I have and it’s a shame that a manager has to ruin the streak for this hardworking team. Today our smoothies are awful and have way more seeds than any smoothie I’ve ever consumed im highly upset and can’t believe I let this dude disrespect me like that . Seriously out of line.
