Note: went during Covid time I love this place! I saw this place while we were walking around downtown Palm Springs and I’ll admit the name caught my eye. We woke up the next morning thinking we need breakfast. I did a search and Bongo Jonny’s came up. The wife was skeptical. So I read a few reviews and they were great! So I said cmon. And she said fine we’ll go. Location: the restaurant is on the second floor with patio seating in the front and back. Food: food was awesome! I had the Steak and Eggs and the wife had the Eggs Benedict. My steak was cooked perfectly. And the biggest surprise was the hash browns! Don’t know what they put in them but they were the best! Raving reviews from the wife. Drinks: wife says the coffee is great! I had the Johnny’s Morning Wood. It was delicious. This place is great and fun. The menu has names for items which are what I’d call “interesting” or not safe for young ones. I would love to come here again. I would recommend this place!

Oh Hunnys! You must eat at Bongo Johnny's! I was there for a late dinner on a cold rainy night. I was in a grumpy mood. Why come to Palm Springs is it's just gonna rain and freeze my buns off? WELL Bongos changed my mood, filled my stomach with delicious food, warmed my bones and provided me with enough entertainment for a night! Located downtown Palm Springs in a second floor location. It has a small lovely indoor seating area and a lovely covered, HEATED outside area. The staff are to notch. Fast, on point, funny/friendly. In the collection of diners that night were some Goth folks, a bridal party group, some sort of computer nerd/joker group and humble ol' Mandolinman. I had Caesar Salad with grilled chicken and for $7 their bottomless champagne glass. The salad was really good and the grilled chicken was incredibly wonderful! Our server kept that champagne glass full. Good people. Good good. Good setting. Surprisingly great prices.

We visited in August so the "off season". We had the bacon cheeseburger. I had a gluten free bun and a side of cottage cheese (with a sprinkle of paprika) because they do not have a dedicated fryer. I've never had cottage cheese as a side to a burger but honestly it works. We asked for our burgers "well done" because we are from Canada. The burgers were very well done, and the bacon was overcooked. I don't mind my bacon overcooked and I ate it but some would definitely not enjoy. On the second floor of a building overlooking the main street this would be a great place to people-watch during the busy season. Overall, our server was attentive and the restaurant was clean and well staffed. If I were in Palm Springs again, I would give it a shot. If you can't walk up the long flight of stairs, there is an elevator available so this restaurant would be considered wheelchair accessible.

I read that the Patio is Dog friendly so I wanted to check it out.. Trying to find a host to seat you is like a scavenger hunt. Not one employee acknowledged me. If your going to be dog friendly then you need a host stand OUTSIDE! I was told I had to go back down the stairs and up the other side- hey guys maybe mention the elevator? It's useful if you have an older dog. I was sat next to a bucket of dirty mop water -that my dog tried to drink by the way. I ordered the French onion soup that was my first mistake. I then ordered the French dip it came Literally 1 minute later with nasty dry overcooked lunch meat, slightly moldy tasting bread and undercooked fries. The Manager agreed it looked unappetizing and offered to replace it. I ordered chicken strips and asked for them crispy since the fries were barely cooked. I got chicken strips and fries- which I didn't want- I just wanted the chicken strip appetizer, the Manager should know to clarify if you want the app or meal. I waited 15 minutes for the chicken strips and the fries I didn't order were undercooked again. The busser took away my cup of soup without even asking if I was done. My server Jim was the only saving grace he was great, everyone else seemed discombobulated. So anyway spent 40$ on a below average bloody Mary and two chicken strips. The patio was wet and cold because it had just been mopped. To say this was disappointing is a massive understatement! Don't waste your time or money here. Worst dining experience I've ever had. The whole place had a weird vibe. The staff was off and the music was too loud and sort...

We were excited to try this place. The drink menu was great and I quickly decided on the Orange Dreamsicle. It was anything but dreamy. Tasted like 90% ice with a splash of orange juice. I ordered the 4 cheese mac and cheese with basil, tomatoes and added chicken for a fee. I was just tired of burgers and salads. We ordered some pot stickers that said came with a dipping sauce. It came with no sauce. When I asked for the dipping sauce I was given a bottle of soy sauce. We ordered Grench onion soup, it wasnt bad but it wasnt hot either. Our meal eventually mafe its way out. If you like over cooked pasta with a water based sauce you might not hate this. The noodles were so over cooked you couldnt chew them. I dont believe they could have used more than a pinch of cheese. It was flavorless as well. I didnt eat mine. The waiter asked if I wanted to take it to go and I told him no, it wasnt very good. My sister ordered the same thing and also did not eat hers. He said he would let the cook know. What good does that do gor us? There are so many great restaurants in Palm Springs, dont waste your time or money on this one. Horrible food and bad service. Why should they care, most customers are tourists? Our meal was around 75.00. A box of Kraft and a beer would have been better. I will...

Horrible. Silverware had food crust, their water glasses are chipped, their Caesar salad is a plate of wilted lettuce soaked in dressing, not edible. Their fries are soggy and their toppers which they charge for had no taste. My Club sandwich came out with the same wilted lettuce and the coleslaw was SPOILED. We let our waitress know, she charged us full price for every meal, poor customer service. Their excuse was "the coleslaw is just a side order". Disgusting, horrible food.

Now I will elaborate because apparently the "owner" of Bongo Johnny thinks I have time to randomly post complete fabrications about his "restaurant". Any business owner who has any pride in his business would take the time to actually look into complaints, EVERY word I shared about your lousy restaurant was a hundred percent accurate, the food is gross, maybe the health department should be made aware that you think it's okay to serve your customers spoiled food. The only thing that is drawing patrons to your restaurant is your bottomless mimosa deal. No thanks, if I wanted bottomless cheap "champagne" from a screw top bottle, I'll go to Trader Joes and stock up on three...
