As someone who NEVER leaves bad reviews, I now feel compelled to give true context to this situation.
The owner was so rude and thought appropriate to not only shout across a restaurant to try and shame a single mother with a small child infront of customers, but then proceeded to call me “uneducated” instead of apologising for the aggressive manner in which he spoke to my THREE year old son.
My toddler who was quiet and not disrupting anyone else got up to sit on our table so he could see/play with his toy cars and as I was asking him to get down, I heard the owner ignorantly shouting from across the room and as I apologised, he went on to say “how do you behave at home” and he has also used the word “uneducated”. Totally unnecessary and aggressive. Firstly, I'm a general practitioner so I assure you my level of education has far surpassed a pompous man who can’t control his temper towards a woman and a small child even after apologising and trying to handle the situation. Totally agree my son should not have sat on the table to play his toy car, but he’s a THREE year old boy. Furthermore, I 100% will defend my son against any manner of aggression with the same energy I receive. What the owner is clearly failing to understand is that there is a huge difference in politely approaching a customer with a concern vs screaming from across a restaurant only to embarrass and shame another human being with other people watching.
The chef who was actually so wonderful spoke to me very kindly and apologised on behalf of this man for causing any offence, and that he’s “French” as though that’s any justification. Being called “uneducated” and questioning how we live at home over such an innocent moment from a THREE year old boy who was completely well behaved and not disruptive to anyone would be like me saying the French have a well known reputation of being racist and rude/aggressive towards people who...
Read moreVery nice ambience cafe. I ordered an espresso to stay. The double espresso was very pricey and I gave 20% tip. When she brought it, she gave it to me in a take out cup. I questioned the paper cup because I ordered it to stay and she said they don’t have stay cups. The espresso was over extracted, very bitter and had no crema. When I left, the same waitress came towards me with two coffees in stay cups for another customer and I saw that the coffee station was stacked with cups for espresso and bigger coffees. I understand that errors happen, but why couldn’t she just pour my coffee from the paper cup in a stay cup when I asked her about it is beyond me. Bad customer service and...
Read moreI am genuinely curious how this place manages to stay open, boasting a 4.7 rating. Are the reviewers tasting what I'm tasting? Did the food get this bad last night? The coffee could pass for vintage Folgers at grandpa’s house, and Denny’s might sue them for egg defamation given how much better theirs are. The roasted potatoes must have been nuked to perfection in a microwave, and the salad? Fresh from the land of Never Fresh. It’s the kind of place where the mediocrity is so profound, you wouldn't even bother complaining. You just know your words would vanish into the air. Paying for this barely edible food felt like a prank—where's the hidden camera? And am I going to be...
