This is truly the first time Iāve ever needed to post a review of a business due to just how awful the experience was!
My husband and I are restaurant owners and have been in the industry 40+ years combined. We come to Palm Springs often to relax, and have ordered from NYPD in the past!
This evening, we craved pizza and decided to order for delivery. I ordered a large pizza and 2 orders of wings. The total was $87, but I didnāt want to make a big deal about pricing at the moment because lord knows the cost of food has gone up tremendously.
Fast forward to an hour later when the pizza arrives. Itās an XXXL pizza thatās no less than 4 feet wide! The driver, (who was cool and my husband had tipped nicely) told him the person taking orders was new, and made a mistake.
So as a business owner myself, and a hungry patron, I called NYPD to let them know they made a mistake and ask if they can refund the difference between what I ordered and what I received.
Again, Iām in the industry and know the health department rules as well as having an understanding about customer service. Letās just say I have had to refund, deduct, re-deliver and more to customers over the years for the sake of customer satisfaction. I thought this would be no different.
The manager Louie gets on the phone and proceeds to tell us he wants the pizza back, and will send the size we ordered. He wants to SELL the pizza they sent us to customers š First of all, once a customer has an order, you cannot legally re-sell the food. Secondly, I now donāt trust the ācorrect sizeā Iām being offered as a replacement because Iāve had to plead my case to the manager and was even hung up on.
Iāve owned a pizza restaurant for 14 years in Los Angeles and have never ONCE picked a pizza up from a unsatisfied customer so I can re-sell it. At this point Iām just completely stunned by the lack of customer service.
Hereās the dealāif you send an order incorrectly, just fix the mistake and take an L. We all have to sometimes as business owners or managers, because employees do make mistakes no matter where you work or what business you own.
In this case, they came back to get the pizza, lost a loyal customer, and received a bad review all so that they could take their mistake back and eat it.
I truly canāt believe it, but this happened š
Buyer beware if you walk in to pick up a slice. It may be a leftover pizza from a unsatisfied customer.
And Happy Motherās Day from the mother waiting on a large pizza she...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCannot believe the lack of "phone service."
Called at 10:15 on a week night to place an order for pick up. Was immediately placed on hold. After four minutes, with no one coming back to phone, I hung up.
Called back - the phone was picked up, then hung up. No one responded.
Tried several times (about six times), to get through and the phone just rang, going into voice-mail.
If you cannot even get through on the phone, can't imagine what in person service must be like.
I recognize it's a busy place, but I guess they aren't interested in their reviews, customer service, or gaining new customers.
Signs of the times.
UPDATE: my husband decided to order in person. Wish I had read reviews, but it was late and nothing else was open in proximity to hotel.
We ordered Tuna melts that were described to include lettuce, tomatoes, and mozzarella cheese, "on a tasty roll."
We spent over $20 for two and tipped well. When he arrived with food, found no lettuce, no tomatoes. The tasty roll looked like a hot dog bun, opened. Highway robbery.
We come to town every year for over a week and this is the first time we've ordered from this place. It will also be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've liked this place for years, but tonight was my last visit. It's been about six months since my last visit and there have there have been a few changes. Like the men's bathroom. No lock on the door and and filthy!!! That usually tells me everything I need to know about a restaurant.
After regrouping from my visit to the head I got to watch a big bald headed guy restock the beers....and cough over them without covering his mouth. If that wasn't enough he then wiped his nose with his hand and grabbed a few more beers for some unsuspecting customer. I'm guessing he's never applied for a food service card....let alone pass the test.
But what really kills me is they have a great product, yet they can't bring in the staff to make the entire experience great. We've enjoyed all of the NYPD locations in Phoenix, but this one just doesn't make the grade.
Hello owner!!! Hire a better staff, clean up the place, and discourage the Palm Spring tweakers from calling this place home or by the time the new mall opens across the street this place will be long gone..... and with it all potential growth in...
