Palm Springs|A Brunch Surprise – Random Find Exceeded Expectations!

Take it from a Palm Springs local - this place is pretty good. This place focuses on breakfast so it does an above average job at it. They are one of the first places to open for breakfast so its an advantage. The menu selection choices are very good. There's something for everyone. The service was very good. Tanisha was exceptional. She showed up right as we sat down, came by often to fill up our coffee and water, was fast in bringing more butter that I asked for, and was very nice even with a little chit chat, smile, and jokes. All of the staff were busy as bees swarming all over the restaurant to serve the customers. We had breakfast at about 9:00am on a Sunday morning and the restaurant was already near all full. It is on the second floor so you might miss it. They need to keep the signage visible so you can see it from street level. I prefer the previous location down the street. I prefer this place to Wilma & Freidas which had a roach infestation a while back & the county health department shut them down. I haven't been back there. I think its a tourist trap. There's a few seats on the outdoor balcony but they are very limited. There are large TV's all around and the decor is nice except that the new light hardwood floors are beginning to look dirty. Overall, I would go back and would recommend it to friends from out of town.. Take it from a local Palm Springs resident.

Came here specifically because I wanted the lemon ricotta pancakes. They sat us down, brought water to us and then nothing. We had to wait over 40 minutes to order. This was after waiting 25 minutes before we flagged someone down to try to order. He said he’d have to get a pen and would be right back. I proceeded to watch him stop by other tables, walk around a few times, enter things in the computer. Another 10 minutes went by we asked someone else, he said he’d get our waiter. At least another 5 minutes went by, and the original guy returned. He was about to take our order — literally started to talk to us — then decided no, he would bring to go boxes and checks to two or three other tables instead. We spent another 10 minutes waiting. He came back, I tried to order the lemon ricotta pancakes, the Tiki Toast, blueberry pancakes, a side of bacon, and pomegranate juice. Five to ten minutes, later the manager comes out to tell us they are actually out of all pancakes. He asked if we were overlooked and asked if we wanted anything else, but at this point we didn’t. He told us the meal would be on him and gave us coupons for a future visit. The Tiki Toast was a good French Toast, but it wasn’t anything special and it wasn’t worth the time spent trying to get the food and it threw off the plans we had for our day.

We had a party of 8 people and were sat quickly. However after 10 minutes of no service except for waters we retrieved our own menus. After another 10 minutes of waiting we asked who our server was at that time. The server finally came to the table to take drink orders, refused to take food order at that time. After getting half of the drinks we gave our food order and this was after the server had taken a food order from another table who was seated after us. Waiting again for another 15 minutes we then inquired where the rest of our drinks were (they were ready and sitting at the bar) and we finally received them. After sitting at the table for almost an hour we then asked for the manager who came to our table and informed him of the events. We were offered free drinks which we took and 2 coupons for free waffles with an apology. The manager then went to the kitchen and after an hour we finally recieved our food. Our server came once after 15 minutes into eating our food if everything was OK. They were missing one item and also did not put a correct side in for one plate. Most of this was all fixed while we were eating. Food was mediocare at best and was not worth the wait for an hour to receive food nor the 200 dollars spent on said food. Someone also needs to let the waitress know that she needs to pull her bangs back instead of having hair in her eyes working in food industry. It's disgusting! Also, unfortunately our server is not cut out for this type of wor and should find another job in a different industry. She Never once topped off our drinks, checked on our food, or acknowledged our table. We even had to ask for the check at the end. Sadly, I will not patron this place ever again so the coupons provided to us are useless. We recieved about 40 dollars in beverages as a sorry for the poor service but no discount to our food was provided. Definitely will not be back, what a shame especially on my...
