From a critical standpoint: 1) The shrimp tempura was under-fried, so it was doughy on the inside and didn't have that satisfying crunch it usually does. 2) The shoyu ramen's egg was overcooked and the pork was cut very strangely and was void of flavor. The shoyu was also hardly shoyu, but was pretty good broth if I forget it's supposed to be shoyu. 3) The avocado in the avocado rolls was hard (probably not ripe). The presentation was cute, though. Service was okay. Essentially, this place is very Americanized Japanese cuisine, which is not my personal taste, but could be yours. I come from a heavily Japanese-populated city, so take this review with a grain of salt. *PSA FOR PARENTS BRINGING YOUNG CHILDREN: the music played in the background during our dinner contained explicit content (i.e. racial slurs, the f-word)*

We flew into Palm Springs for a quick weekend getaway and were craving sushi as soon as we landed. Downtown PS was lively but a bit chaotic, so finding Happy Sushi was like a breath of fresh air. This spot is a true hidden gem! High-quality, fresh, and flavorful rolls. The vibe here is relaxed, welcoming, and perfect for enjoying great food. Mitch and the team went above and beyond with their friendly service. They even ran my coat out to the car when I accidentally left it behind! The food was so good we couldn’t resist coming back for a second visit before we left town. If you’re looking for top-notch sushi, great prices, and a down-to-earth atmosphere in Palm Springs, you’ve got to check this place out. 10/10 recommend!

Happy Sushi is a great place to enjoy both indoor and outdoor dining. Spoiler alert: it’s amazing and you’ll want to try everything on the menu. It’s nicely located in the main area of downtown Palm Springs. There is plenty of parking. You’ll need sometime to enjoy the dining here and you’ll enjoy all the tastes offered. We tried pot stickers, beef bulgogi, salad and some sushi. All were amazing in flavors and presented very nicely. The food was matched by its excellent customer service and friendly staff. Happy Sushi can get busy or it can offer seating without a wait. I highly recommend Happy Sushi.

Well I was not too happy with happy sushi. From the moment I walked in the door and didn't know where to go to get a table employees just passed me by nobody had a smile on their face I stood by the counter the guy behind the counter who looked miserable never greeted me. It was a busser helped me I was only one person so he wanted to put me at the bar but they are bar is very high compared to the seat I wanted to table. I understand that seats are money but I went to leave because I did not want to sit there and he offered to top table by the door which seemed okay until my home visit people just kept walking around with their kids to keep them busy in front of my table. The server that finally came to the table had no customer service skills at all. The menu is very generic for sushi everything is fake crab me a while to find something because nothing sounded really good very boring and bland. Where was the table beside me who when they came and brought some food the guy said he'd never seen it look like that and they left. My lukewarm saki and my water that was never refilled. as I was finishing my mail I asked for the check thinking he would just bring a check but he came over with the machine I said well then I'm not ready to pay cuz I was still eating. He must have got annoyed because then when I was done I sat there for another 10 minutes waiting to pay I came up with the machine again never having picked up my dirty dishes Salvador my entree this must be the norm because I didn't see any table get cleared while the people were eating or even paying it only got cleared after they left I've been in the restaurant business for 20 years that's not great customer service. I'm tired of tipping good for bad service on overpriced food. I think you're in California got some of the worst service because servers make minimum wage plus their tips so they...

This place should be called "Sad Sushi". First we walk in and every table and the sushi bar had dirty dishes. We were in a rush so we sat at the bar. The sushi chef never asked if we wanted anything, didn't even give us ginger... so I said "how does this work?". He said we had to order from the waiter... and meanwhile aa we were waiting a woman at bar ordered from the sushi chef. Then the guy sitting next to us also ordered from the sushi chef. But our sushi chef told us she doesnt have to seeve them, she was doing them a favor. I said "huh, I've been eating sushi for 30 years and when we sit at the bar we always order from the sushi chef. So that was weird and uncomfortable. Then our sushi came... the Jalapeño bomb (typically jalapeños with cream cheese an spicy tuna all over the country) was Jalapeños with imitation crab and cream cheese(although menu just said "Jalapeño Bomb". So that wss gross. Then the spicy tuna had spicy mayo squirted on the top of it... not mixed into the fish which is standard. Then all of the other rolls had a pinky nail of fish and wrapped in a good half inch of rice. We intended to order a lot more... but my brother said "Im hungry let's drive thru Del Tsco" ... and so we left. All 3 of us agreed... worse sushi ever. I guess it didn't help thst Thai people were making our sushi. Do you want Mexicans making your Thai food? Horrible food and service. Go somewhere else......

Great sushi, great chefs. Service with a very delayed smile, accompanied by a slap on the cheek if you don't eat fast enough for them to go home within 15 minutes after closing.

Stood there for a couple minutes without a greeting to be seated. Ordered appetizers and rolls. Real simple. Rolls came out separate and before the appetizers. Understandable if we are sitting at the bar. Appetizers came out 5 minutes after we started eating our rolls.

They close at 9, we got there at 8:40. They turned on the lights at 9:03, even the table next to us ordered a bottle at the same time looked at me funny like, "seriously?". We were still eating and if we weren't starving we would've only been halfway through. Server was impersonal, no personality, hovered over us at 9:05. Hostess brings us the check and waits over me while I had messy fingers from the spicy edamame STILL IN MY HANDS, to grab my wallet to pay like immediately. I had to ask her if I was allowed to finish eating.

Seriously people, haven't been to this place in almost 20 years and the food is still good but y'all gotta work on your customer service for real.

Won't be back. Would've liked to have been a fat kid and try desert. But thanks for saving me...
