This restaurant is beyond beautiful, magical and majestic. The detail in it's ambiance is going to be your personal adventure. Do you want to sit by a large tree, indoors, very chic, in esoteric lavishness, touched by nature with twinkling lights, wishing you had the background music playing in your house 24-7? Ok. Here this happens. The windows are open. You will understand this better when you are sitting in the dining room surrounded by tasteful oppulance, temperatures outside above 115 degrees, yet inside, you are cool. THE WINDOWS ARE OPEN!! WOW. There is something about fresh air, only people who reside in the desert can explain to the rest of the world. This restaurant transcends the logic of missing that kind of air. How do they do it? I for one, will just appreciate it and for once, not ask those questions. It is almost too good to be true. The menu goes beyond every eccentric palate. Sweet, hot, rich, spicy, salty, feel good, homemade, down home, the top 3% stuff, the beef, the shells u crack open, the pristine, & off the charts to choose from.. It's all there. Don't get mad. It's a lot so u get to have anything you want. Trust and believe they have your flavor. Yes, and a few times over, I might add. Imagine Two staunch democrats, two staunch republicans, both over 60. Their grandmothers, two Ministers around 50, and Snoop Dog, dining together in bliss..... Completely happy. That's this food. Don't get too excited by the wine list. Ok, go ahead and get excited. Order up up up here. Go where u will make a memory and do it right. The Perriet Joet Brut Rose Flower Bottle, will get you there. To sip bubbly pink flowers that explode in your mouth, so you tickle all over, convincing you there is Disneyland Pixy Dust in the stuff, is awesome for only $400 a bottle. But of course there is. You will want two. 2. The greatness of the choices you get to make will most likely annoy you in the very best way possible. I am that serious about the menu. I suggest, to give yourself a break, decide on your first visit, what you are looking forward to trying on your next four visits. That should help. It's a place you want to bring the best people you know, one at a time. It's romantic. It's chic. It's class all the way. Double buckle in, (or unbuckle) whichever u like. Just enjoy everything here.... Rest inside of this place. Rest, for real. Five cleansing breaths to leave the outside out, should do the trick. Do that when you first sit down. I also say, Dress up. Technically, love what you are wearing. It will just make it all that better. Make a toast. Use words. Say something you mean, that you normally wouldn't say. Listen to hear someone else do the same. Allow this. Trust me, this place will find you. I know this, but I'm giving you The Cliff's Notes. What is not to love about this restaurant, I don't know. It is created for such an experience. Maybe check out the different seating ambiances, because each space is way unique. It will be a different ride depending upon where you decide to sit to dine. Nurture this. It's all to your advantage. Spend some money, because you CAN. You will be better for doing so at Spencer's. Remember how this place makes you feel. Send people there, on you. ($$$$) How exciting to share this gift with your unsuspecting dining afficionado friends or kids. (Adult kids, who know better.) It's nice to be that little touch of hero, to whom you care for. The restaurant + you = an amazing time. They already did all the heavy lifting, so smile. Enjoy it all. Truly be pleasantly surprised, repeatedly. Just imagine that! 💫🍾 Jesus would eat here for sure. Just Sayin. He wouldn't be bothered to fuss about the wine either. The owner has that completely covered. Thank me later. Remember The Cliff's Notes, and pay it forward...

I wish i didn't have to write this but what happened happened. First i would like to say i worked in restaurants for almost 10yrs, i understand the stress and load it takes to wait tables. Having said that, there is no excuse for what happened.
I do have to say this is more about one person as the rest of the staff was friendly and attentive. The manager did attempt to try to make amends but we really just wanted to let her know rather than expect her to make it better. We paid in full and were not expecting anything for free...
So we made reservations for the Sat after Valentines, my wife works nights so we opted for the day after. No big deal since we have been married for 19yrs. My wife is Asian and i am Hispanic. We were both dressed very nicely for Valentines and we are in our mid 40's. She had a long red dress and i was in a suit.
Started out just fine, we valeted the car and were greeted when we came in. We were sat quickly and got to sit at a booth. So far so good, the hostess asked if we wanted anything to drink and we said just water for now.
We were unsure of who our waiter was because a few people walked by and no on greeted us. Our waiter as we found out a bit later was attending to the table to our right and to our left that were already there. NOTE, both tables had white older customers. It was a number of minutes before he eventually came over and asked us if we wanted to order. We were still looking at the menu so we hadn't decided.
He came back probably 15-20 minutes later to take our order. The whole time he was stopping by the two tables already seated, one to our left, one to our right, never bothering to stop by to take our order. I had to call him over, no big deal, he might be busy...
We placed our order and then it became apparent what was going on. He never came back to check on us until the very end. Meanwhile he was consistently at the other two tables. Every time he walked by, he didn't even look at us. Never bothered to ask us if the appetizers tasted good, did we need another drink, refill the water, bus the table as we ate. It was the other staff that attended to ALL of our needs. It wasn't until we were almost finished with our food did he come by. He said, is everything tasting good, i responded with no, it wasn't good, my wife was visible upset... He said ok and walked off... really! Obviously he didn't care...
He was very brisk when dealing with us, annoyed look on his face. Meanwhile he was extremely friendly, chit chatting with the other non-minority tables. He didn't even want to look at us. Half way through the meal my wife said, i think this guy is racist. I told her, ehhh he is probably just busy. The more i watched him, the more i knew she was right, why else would he avoid us while attending hand a foot to the other two tables? She has never had to deal with this. She was so upset she was about to cry. Asian's don't face the same situations Hispanics do, but ill say i haven't had anything like this happen in a very long time. Valentines day...
Read moreMy husband made reservations for us for my birthday dinner on our trip to Palm Springs. He had read reviews and asked friends - this restaurant came highly recommended. First I’d like to mention that this is June 2022 - WELL past the COVID mandates our “greeting” was a woman outside the restaurant asking for our vaccination records and ID. If this doesn’t sound like the beginnings of a luxurious celebratory meal to you then I’d have to agree. We had to call our dog sitter to take a photo of our vaccination record. The manager and host were less than accommodating- they didn’t offer any kind of helpful solution or empathetic kindness about the sudden unexpected requirements. Just a blatant hash tone of “it’s in the reservation notes when you booked,” probably the least helpful or kind people we met on our whole trip, not sure if they understand that a restaurant is actually in the service industry. So once we get past this ridiculous hurdle- we’re seated at a reserved table but this was just the icing on that horrible welcome experience… the table was seated OUTSIDE. Making that whole beginning completely unnecessary. So beyond that - The atmosphere here I will say was very beautiful. The courtyard temperature was perfect and the trees were lush and beautiful. That’s where the nice statements come to a conclusion. I ordered a cocktail to help forget the rudeness we were greeted with and I actually had to send the first one back! It had an overwhelming taste of cheap champagne, the second one I ordered was more tolerable but from this kind of establishment I expect high end, Insta worthy craft cocktails but experienced average less than “okay” drinks. I ordered the tuna tar tare for an appetizer - this was the fishiest tuna I’ve had in a very long time - it was very gummy in texture and was a complete let down as I was craving a fabulous tuna tower and was left with a weird experience of a pile of pink chewy tuna with a side of soy sauce, pre-made avocado & sriracha sauce. The rack of lamb was okay, the seasoning was boring, the green beans were basically just that and the cheese was the only reason the potatoes were eaten fully. My husband did not enjoy his sea bass, he described it as “fair.” We had been spoiled by seafood during our whole trip and expected this sea bass to be the height of our seafood experience yet it ranked at the bottom. To put a cheery on top of this whole experience- remember how this was a birthday dinner? The waiter forgot it was my birthday, my husband has to ask him for a candle for my dessert and he attempted to cover up the mishap & say he had it accidentally sent to another table. Just own up to the fact that our table was pretty much neglected from the beginning of service - which we clearly were. Dirty dishes stayed on the table longer than they should have, our waiter never checked in after dropping our food off, and generally did not keep up with the table. This restaurant may have been the place to be back in the day but somewhere along the way they’ve lost their sizzle and is now resting on an...
