CAFE DE PEARL — Restaurant in Panama City Beach

We got multiple drinks including a smoothie and a thai tea with boba, as well as a acai bowl, a bubble waffle, and a crepe.

The smoothie was WAY too sweet - I think they add extra simple syrup (a lot extra).

The Bubble waffle tasted just like a pancake. I have had these in the past and they were both crewy (with the bubbles) and crunchy (on the edges). This waffle was NOT that, and was just soft all around. It was very mid.

The acai bowl and crepe were delicious, and both came with a lot fruit. The thai tea was also good.

A MAJOR drawback was the fact that these people did not understand questions in English. We tried communicating by hands, but that did not work well. I recommend coming with the expectation of 0 changes (like less sugar, a plain...

Who knows!?!? 🤷‍♀️ Went to this food truck (for those new) & stood there for 6-8 minutes & myself + the man in front of me in line was COMPLETELY ignored! The man (I assume Owner or Manager) saw us, looked in our direction & didn't even acknowledge us. He was too busy barking at the young girl behind the counter either "training or reprimanding" her from the looks of her face. He finally walked up & said "what do you want" No hello, thanks for your patience etc. I was disgusted by the lack of service I walked away.

I will say from the looks of things there wasn't much in the way of fresh produce & the bins up front were all about empty.

Café de Pearl is a hidden gem just a short walk from South Pier Park Drive—and well worth the stroll. They serve up an unusual yet delicious variety of sweet treats, along with refreshing smoothies and freshly made crepes. Everything is beautifully presented and full of flavor. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the staff goes out of their way to make sure you’re happy with your order.
