We waited about an hour to be seated inside. We had no issue with the wait and enjoyed the frozen daiquiris during that time. When we were seated, we could barely hear one another (party of three, small table) over the roar of the party in the corner of the restaurant. We had to shout our order to the waitress. We endured it for awhile thinking that the party would leave, but they did not. We asked our waitress if it would be possible for them to be asked to quiet down, she assured us that they would be cashing out. I felt bad for the wait staff, they seemed overwhelmed and flustered. No manager in sight. When the table was finally asked to settle the 10+ children in the party, it was said by the parents “these are just kids having fun.” Still no manager despite hoops and hollers and cheers from this rowdy bunch. On their way out, they stopped to confront our table, telling us that we were rude to a bunch of kids, as if they are the only people in the restaurant. STILL no manager in sight as we are being cussed and yelled at by this group of people. After it was over, a lady at a nearby table was talking with us about what occurred, saying how they are also happy the group left and how awful they were behaving. We were joking about the situation and laughing. Even wait staff was commenting on how relieved they are that the party was gone. THAT is when a manger showed up to yell… AT US! She walked up behind my sister and yelled, “WE ARE DONE HERE!” We were very confused, as we had no clue who she was as she was not present during the entire situation. We couldn’t tell that she was the manager, as she looked like a regular patron. She also did not help her staff clean up the huge mess left by that terrible party. Just yelled at us and then disappeared.
Also, the food was mediocre. We got much better food at the Wicked Wheel around the corner. I would recommend to just get the slushies to enjoy on the beach and cut your losses.
I am giving a three on service only because our actual waitress was very nice and did a good job, though flustered by what was going on. I would give a zero for the manager, as she was unable to control the floor and did nothing to...
Read moreWe arrived at the restaurant around a quarter to eight. Told the restaurant closes at eight SO we asked if we were too late to enjoy a meal. The hostess said oh no you’ll be seated and served as long as you’re in before eight. This was with a 15min wait to be seated. Once seated things start as they should, waitress intro and take drink orders, asked if ready to order so on. We are a party of 6(2 per ticket) each “couple” ordered with some asking questions and suggestions. Upon arrival of food, which came out pretty quick, the platters/containers were warm to touch- you’d think ooh fresh and hot. NOPE. Ticket 1 - ribs were not tasty/didn’t like ‘em. Ticket 2 - gator not good, taste of old grease. Ticket 3- mahi-mahi cold on the inside-like refrigerator cold. With the dishes arriving warm to touch, fry lover here starts with fries and a bite from the sandwich hmm something is cold removes the bun to check tomato and lettuce no…continue eating fries because the tarter sauce is good and dip of choice. While indulging in fries tickets 1 and 2 bring the above mentioned issues to waitress attention and what happens happens -not my issue. I do recall the waitress saying the kitchen is closing. Back for bite number two of the mahi-mahi it’s even colder-not wind cold refrigerator cold. Waitress is notified and takes platter a few minutes later some rude guy assuming the manager on duty come to table with platter ask what’s wrong and that he’s not removing it from the ticket because he had already removed the ribs, gator and something else I don’t recall but 3 items had been removed. With neither of those items being something I ordered I proceeded with that’s not my ticket gesturing the other items sitting in front or near me. Needless to say Mr. Rude stood there with platter saying I can get you a to go box but he was not removing it. Mind you didn’t ask for it to be removed per se just wanted a hot meal-not consume cold fish. But I’m assuming since the kitchen was closing that wasn’t an option. Hostess and Kitchen Staff need to be on the same page concerning service and a cut off time for entrance in order to receive food of certain temp and...
Read moreWe had been to Pineapple Willy's over 10years ago and figured we'd try it again since it was still up and running. Our experience, this time around, was not the same as our previous one. Pineapple Willy's is overated. If you go there for the drinks, you should be fine, but don't go for the food. I ordered the Blackened Mahi Plate ($30), which comes with 2 seared mahi strips topped with jellied salsa, a side of corn on the cob, mashed potatoes or fries, and a slice of "toast". When I read the menu, I thought the salsa was fresh, like pico de gallo. Maybe I overlooked the menu but i got a jellied salsa. The mahi was overcooked which made it hard to chew. By the end of my meal, my jaw was hurting. The mashed potatoes tasted like boxed ones (not sure if they were or not). The corn on the cob tasted like corn on the cob (i.e. nothing special about it). The server brought out margerine spread for the corn. The "toast" was very soft. Not sure if this is how they mean to serve it or if it was actually supposed to be toasted. I ordered the Island Nachos for my kiddos and they were not impressed. They hardly touched the toppings and they LOVE nachos. I tried some of it to see why they didn't like them and i realized that the pulled pork was kinda soggy. Can pulled pork even be soggy? Im not sure how else to describe it. It definitely felt like maybe it was canned pulled pork? The salsa was the same jellied salsa that was on my plate. Do they add this salsa to everything?? And the queso blanco was not runny enough to top all the chips so a lot of chips didn't have any queso. Overall, we were extremely disappointed. Especially because all the dishes were expensive but im guessing they get away with it because they are a brand. Will definitely not be returning for the food, unless it's for salad. They got the Ceasar Salad right! Will return for Lemonade Daquiri I ordered. It was delicious!! It tasted like frozen lemonade. Pineapple Willy's, please change your dishes or your cook. One of them isn't working...
