6/13/24 I first reviewed this establishment in November of last year, shortly after they opened. Not a lot to add about the quality of the ramen and the super attentive (without hovering) service. But we have been in a few times since winter season has ended and I keep forgetting to post the fact that they have dropped their prices substantially.
There were a few complaints about paying $25 for a bowl (of the BEST ramen in Park City) but that bowl now goes for $18, a 28% price reduction. Check them out. First review below Brand new Ramen restaurant in Park City. Sorely needed! Tucked away in the corner of a parking lot (next to the Starbucks on Park) This is a winner. You walk in are embraced by the warmth of the room which is very tastefully decorated with Japanese calligraphy adoring the walls and bouncy Japanese music playing at the right level. Service was attentive, and as it was taking a bit long for the kitchen to get our order out we were brought a seaweed salad to thank us for our patience. Wonderful flavor on the salad and that is a $7.00 appetizer.
For our mains I went with Tonkotsu and my wife choose the Shoyu. The Tonkotsu is described as being Fukuoka style creamy with a 20-hours pork bone soup. It includes egg noodles, 3 slices of soft, unctuous Chashu pork belly, nori and 2 shrimp tempura. It also included a Lava egg marinated in Shoyu sauce. This Ramen rocks it. Sauce was deep, rich and you could really taste the pork. The Chashu was melt in your mouth tender and the egg was cooked perfectly.
The Shoyu Ramen was the beef equivalent of my choice. It is described as Usukuchi Shoyu clear beef beone soup with egg noodles and 1 ounces of rib eye and chuck. It also includes a sous-vide egg and the shrimp tempura. It again, was full of rich, deep beef flavor in the broth and the meat was both tender and very flavorful.
Pro tip - eat the 2 pieces of tempura immediately as the soften and cool quickly. I like mine with some of their chili sauce to punch it up a bit.
We have been waiting for what seemed like forever for this place to open. Then it did and we could find the time to get in there until today. We will be back on a regular basis. Yama has everything going for it. Cool decor, good service and great food. I am sure once the hordes of tourists show up that this place will be packed but we figure out a time to get back in there...

We were looking for ramen and saw this had the best reviews by far. The fact that it said it was Fukuoka style sounded promising for authenticity. We were wrong. I don't usually go out of my way to leave bad reviews, but want people to be aware. They have "promotions" to leave a 5 star review and get a free ramune.
We both got the vegan ramen, and I got the sous vide egg added to mine. The noodles themselves were pretty good, and the broth had a salty if not otherwise bland flavor (could've used a good bit of miso for a true umami flavor). The tofu was unseasoned and lukewarm. The corn listed on the menu was actually a frozen corn, carrot, and pea mix that was just barely cooked through. The sous vide egg was loose and flavorless - definitely not an ajitama that is expected in a ramen dish.
While the servers weren't rude, the person who took our order never checked back in with us - had to flag them down a couple times including asking for our check after sitting for a while completely finished eating. The person serving water was very attentive but didn't check on anything else. There were 6 total tables with people (most two people) so not super busy.
I can't speak to if there is better ramen available in Park City, and this at least was a filling dinner after a day on the slopes, but I...
Read moreI have eaten a lot of good ramen and was overall disappointed here and should have read more of the reviews and the defensive replies of the restaurant. Had the spicy ramen and the black garlic ramen. Noodles were perfect texture and fresh. The bowl was a generous portion. However for $25 per bowl and overall good reviews, I was expecting stellar ramen. The 20hr pork broth was under seasoned and unbalanced for us tonight. Our “marinated, soft boiled egg” was also clearly not seasoned and fell apart for both of us - see photo - intact jammy yolk but the white disintegrated??. (Upon reading response to other reviews it seems they sous vide and they haven’t changed their method despite people’s complaints).
Tempura shrimp was good but thick batter thus oily. Quality of the pork was poor, very fatty cut. Overall very greasy and sat heavy. It’s honestly one of the worst ramens I’ve had sadly. I’m not saying that to bash the restaurant but I’m just shocked at the overall good rating.
Service was fast. Reservation was not needed for 7:30 on a Saturday night.
I won’t come back. And for all readers - There’s another place in the canyons village that has much better quality and flavor for the...
