They were able to seat us even though we were early for our reservation, which was nice. Food was just average. Bar service was beyond horrible. We ordered two gin & tonics and one bourbon & coke. Easy drinks. First round came out as gin & cokes and a bourbon & tonic. Huh? The bartender came out and blamed it on the guy who entered our drink order (who was not our server), but what kind of bartender would really think anyone wants either a gin and coke or a bourbon and tonic? Whatever, mistakes happen, and they corrected it. Our next rounds came out in different glassware with different garnishes and different styles of ice (alternating from crushed ice to one big cube and back to crushed) every single time. The server actually apologized for the "rotating glassware" before we even mentioned it. We ordered one more round while we looked over the dessert menu, and it came out as two gins with soda (not tonic) in tall Collins glasses (?) and a bourbon and tonic like my first incorrect drink. I admittedly incorrectly said, "I think this is gin" when I tasted it, but it absolutely was not the drink I ordered. The bartender handled this by coming out to my table with the drink I sent back and proceeded to tell me that maybe the high elevation was making the drink taste wrong and that it was bourbon. I sat in quiet disbelief. He then told me he wasn't "trying to throw shade" and he again said it was bourbon and that he was going to keep the drink until after his shift and drink it himself. Yeah. Then he said he'd bring me another one and I told him not to bother and that we were leaving. First of all, I live here. It wasn't the elevation and I wonder how often that actually works on people. Second, even if I was wrong and it was the drink I ordered, you don't handle it by telling a guest in the middle of the restaurant that they're wrong and you're right. You roll your eyes out of sight, make it again in a glass that makes sense, with ice that makes sense and with some sort of consistency, and you send it out with your apologies. I may have said "I think this is gin" and it probably was really bourbon, but it clearly had tonic in it as the color, smell and taste were completely wrong. Whether I was drinking gin and Coke, or bourbon and tonic, it wasn't what I ordered, and only a monster would drink bourbon and tonic or gin and Coke.
Meanwhile, the couple next to us eating dessert had appetizers brought out to them--clearly meant for another table, and another table had entrees brought to them and they hadn't even ordered yet. Also the "bartender" was running food to various tables and if you're running a restaurant in Park City on a Saturday night and you've got your bartender running food--you've got a serious problem.
Food wasn't anything more than a glorified Applebee's and we wouldn't have wanted to go back even if the bar had their act together.
Our server, Amanda, did the best she could with what she had to deal with, and my recommendation to her is to get a job somewhere else because she's better...
Read moreGood afternoon,
Not that I expect anything to result of this message given how terribly management treated our party of 17, but the "so-called" customer service we received was abysmal. In addition to being advised that we would be charged $50/per person if we were more than a minute late to our reservations, your manager was condescending at best and a joke at worst. To be told "I'm sorry you haven't been seated 23 minutes after your reservation time" - as if we wouldn't have been charged for being 23 minutes late for said reservation.
In addition, the "manager" told our group to go get a drink from the bar, where we were then immediately told we could not be in said space: "you must be misinformed" - we were misinformed by your staff.
More than 50% of our party both serves and bartends - we are not new to the service industry, but to be spoken to the way we were was completely unacceptable, regardless of our previous/current work experience.
Our server Manuel, was excellent, but management clearly needs some training. I would not ever return nor recommend to anyone else based on our experience.
For a $1600+ tab, I expect more. Would not advise anyone go here if you're expecting to have a meal that doesn't result in you being talked down to (and also being served a medium well steak when you order medium rare - little bit of a difference there).
05/05/22 ETA - after the manager posted the below response, I gave the benefit of the doubt and emailed directly the same day and (unshockingly) NEVER GOT A RESPONSE. This place is terrible, management is terrible and disingenuous at best. Good riddance.
The email I sent to the manager advised that though it’s claimed we got multiple things comped, the only thing that did was one bread pudding. On a $1600+ tab. Do better. I’m happy to spend money at a proper establishment with actual food service. This place...
Read moreI recently visited Butcher's with high hopes, only to be thoroughly disappointed by my entire dining experience. From the moment I walked in, it was evident that the restaurant was outdated and desperately in need of a makeover. The decor felt tired and worn-out, giving off a rather lackluster ambiance.
To make matters worse, the prices were exorbitant, bordering on the outrageous. It felt like a blatant attempt to take advantage of unsuspecting tourists. I couldn't help but feel that I was being overcharged for mediocre food and subpar service. We couldn't believe it when the waiter had the nerve to remind us a party of 6 that we needed to spend at least $500. This was already made very clear at the time of making the reservation.
Now the food, the filet mignon I ordered was an absolute disaster. It was not only overcooked but it was also 6oz at best. It lacked any semblance of flavor. Considering the premium price tag attached to it, I expected a tender and succulent piece of meat, but instead, I received a dry and tasteless disappointment. It was a complete letdown.
Overall, my visit to Butcher's was a regrettable mistake. The outdated atmosphere, overpriced menu, overcooked filet mignon, and tactless waiter all contributed to a thoroughly unpleasant dining experience. I would strongly advise anyone considering dining at this establishment to think twice and explore other options that offer better value for their money. We ate at The Boneyard today and their food was much better. Their taco salad had more steak and it was a much better...
