This is the first time I have written a review and I'm doing it now only because my family had such a horrible experience at Collie's Sports Bar & Grill on Main Street in Park City. I would not want anybody else to go through the same experience.
It was a holiday weekend, so it was a little busy, but we did get seated as soon as we walked into the restaurant, so it was not that busy. We waited for one hour and 45 minutes before finally leaving without having been serve a single thing to eat.
During that hour and 45 minutes, our waitress only came by a few times and after about an hour we asked for an update on our order. She said there were two orders in front of ours and it would be another 10 minutes. 20 Minutes later I got up from the table to find our waitress and again she said it would be another 10 minutes. I asked her to check in the kitchen and she admitted that they had not even started cooking our order. At this point, about 50% of the tables had been empty for a good 45 minutes. For a restaurant on Main Street, it was in no way busy.
We then asked to speak to the manager and he was completely useless and offered nothing, not even an apology. 105 minutes into our experience, we decide to cancel the order and leave. On the way out we pass the owner of the restaurant. He too provides no apology and sheepishly refers us to the manager we already spoke to. It was not just us, there were many other families that had not been served. At the very least, the manager or the owner should have come to our table and apologized for the extraordinarily long wait and given us a realistic estimate of when our food would be ready. There is no excuse for this level of service and indifference from the owner and manager.
There are many, many wonderful restaurants to enjoy on main street, this however was not one of...
Read moreShort Version: Hostess was good an sat us right away. Waited 25 minutes to order drinks (watched people com in after us get waited on before us). 15 minutes to get said drinks and place our food order. Another 35 mins to get some of the food we ordered but not how it was ordered. Never got drink refills.
10/24/20 It started out great. The hostess was willing to be accommodating to the large group we had (there were 8 of us) even brainstorming ideas of how to sit us all together but we knew with covid 8 people is kind of a stretch so we were good with 2 tables of 4 and were sat immediately. But from there everything went south.
It took the waitress 25 mins to acknowledge our existance and take our drink order (during this time the table next to ours got seated, drink orders placed, drink orders recieved, and food order placed). Our bar drinks came out in about 10 mins but the sodas took about 15. Thats when the waitress took the order. Chicken sandwich, wings and pretzels, fried pickles, just pretzels, and a medium rare burger.
Half hour goes by, our drinks our empty, our conversation has moved from friends catching up to wondering if our orders even got put in. About 5 mins later the accommodating hostess (not the waitress) brings out the order (most of what we had was appetizers and usually those come out first but not this time). But the chicken sandwich was nowhere is sight (same as the waitress) and the burger was somewhere between well done and very well done.
The bussers came and cleared the tables as we finished our plates 1 by 1, but still no waitress. After another long wait another waitress asked if we needed anything else and we asked for the check. Looked it over and our chicken sandwich never got ordered so nothing needed to be fixed.
We paid and left. Never to...
Read moreI rarely eat meat- maybe once a month or so. I hate ribs. But I don’t know what voodoo magic crack sauce they put on their ribs but I became a full blown blood thirsty carnivore during my time in Park City. I ate ribs every single day. Sometimes twice. Don’t even get me started on their pulled pork nachos. I tried eating up the street once- it was overpriced garbage and the service was garbage so I came back down and refused to eat anywhere else. Collies is the pot of gold at the bottom of Main Street. I feel lucky to have found it so early in my stay.
So I don’t even like sports, but this was still my favorite bar in town. Not only is their food some of the best and most affordable in Park City, but the service is amazing. I sat at the bar with Lukas most of the time and just fell in love with him. I got to know him pretty well as he’s an open book with some wild stories and endearing, cheeky sass. I feel like in just a few short hours, I made a connection for life. After two days there he already knew my drink and made me feel like a “regular” in an otherwise pretentious town. It’s refreshing to find a bartender that actually knows how to bartend and be a human being at the same time.
Of course everyone else I came across were some of the best- Paloma and Bianca are little lights of love that always showered me and my dog with warmth. ..Speaking of my dog- he once escaped my room and made it to the front of Collies where Sam sat with him and waited until I could get him… Where else do you get that kind of service?! And the two Ryans??? Double Ryans. Double the fun. Can’t forget Jason- he’s a hoot who’s out saving the world when he’s not bartending. Olive Garden’s got nothing on Collies. When you’re here, you...
