Our server was WONDERFUL and is NOT the reason for this updated review.
First I ordered the 12oz Ribeye medium well with potatoes and broccoli and my wife had the Chicken Alfredo as well as boneless wings and cheese sticks for appetizers
The first steak that came out I ordered medium well and while it looked great the steak was 90% fat and undercooked lightly maybe at a medium instead of Med Well which isn't a huge deal breaker but the quality of that particular steak was trash and for $25 I'm not eating a fatty steak.
My wife's Alfredo barely had any sauce on it and the noodles were badly undercooked.
The second steak they brought was great HOWEVER today I've had extreme gastrointestinal issues extreme diarrhea and nausea and since it was THE ONLY thing I had eaten since dinner there that's the only possible cause of this issue.
I don't know if there was a sanitary issue with the kitchen staff or the steak was tainted or they did something to my steak in retaliation for asking for another steak but that meal has made me sick all day...
We blew an entire $60 gift card plus paid out of pocket and honestly I feel cheated and while our server was WONDERFUL and APOLOGETIC but the fact I've most likely contracted some sort of food bourne illness from eating there doesn't sit well with me.
The worst part of it is this was our first date with me and the wife in over 8 years and honestly the food quality and today's last night's sickness ruined the whole experience for me.
I've had raging diarrhea for more that 16 hours and frankly wish I...
Read moreIt was a Friday night 3/25 and neither of us wanted to cook we thought we would have date night at Applebee's. Since my wife's last experience with the Applebee's in Hoover wasn't the best we decided on the Pelham location which previously had been very good. It was crowded in the lobby for those waiting for a booth or table. We decided to sit at the bar and avoid the wait. It wasn't long and the bar was full. There is not a large selection of beers to choose from and unfortunately the soda my wife wanted was out. Not the first place that this has happened at so no surprise there. As an appetizer we ordered cheese sticks and they came out quickly. We then ordered the chicken fajita roll up with fries. After 30 minutes we asked about our order and the waitress said she would go and check on it. When she came back the first explanation was hilarious but won't repeat it as not to offend anyone. Then she told us the real reason which was they were prioritizing the to go orders over those from inside the restaurant. I was totally shocked and find this unacceptable!! I have read that Applebee's is testing drive thru windows to compete with fast food restaurants. If focusing on to go orders is an indication of things to come I won't be dining with Applebee's going forward. Unless I place a to go order and walk across and pick it up since that obviously will be faster than ordering while sitting in a booth or at the bar. Needless to say we canceled our order, paid our bill and left. Since we were still hungry we went next...
Read moreMy husband and I visited this place last night and will never be back. We had the all you can eat boneless wings, riblets, and shrimp. We also had the mozzarella sticks. He received his order of boneless wings and I, my riblets. The riblets were barely warm, and so were the boneless wings. Our waiter was never really around and service took forever. The riblets were mainly full of nothing but fat gristle that I couldn't even get around. They forgot we even ordered mozzarella sticks but brought them out nonetheless. When we received them, they were all the way cold, like biting into a string cheese stick that just came out of the refrigerator. We thought the entrees may have just been a bad batch, so he then gets the riblets and I got the buffalo boneless wings. WRONG. His plate of riblets were cold and again, so were the wings of mine. We at least tried them. I bit one of the boneless wings in half and it was crunchy. Not like good crunchy, like meat wasnt all the way done crunchy. I looked at the other half of my fork and noticed the meat inside the boneless wing had this red dot thing in the middle and the one wing was two different colors. I stopped eating. My husband and I paid our bill and left. We will never be back to another applebees, and if so, it will never be this specific one. The only thing good about this place was their fries. Absolutely nothing else. Which as advertised was supposed to be endless fries as well. They gave us fries with our first plate and we never...
