Update: After a few months avoiding the establishment, I really missed my pizza. I contacted the company when the incident occurred and they provided replacement pizzas. They were really great showing concern for my experience and wanting to address the issue with the location. I just decided to give them another shot this past Friday. I attempted to order online and opted to go on-site. No chances taken, less anxiety if I went onsite to watch my pizza being made. I was checking hair color and texture 🤣😆. I did notice no one wore a hair net. 😬. But everyone wore a mask and they were social distanced. Each team member was wearing gloves as well. Everyone was friendly. When my code didn't work, the cashier was cool and polite. She made the necessary changes so the pies were free. Of course, I inspected the pies thoroughly!!! and once again enjoyed every last bite, hair free. All's well that ends well. I'll just keep all eyes open. ----‐-‐- PREVIOUS POST: I frequent this location and the pizza is amazing. But unfortunately last night I ordered a pizza for myself and my teenage son. He devoured his pizza and got to the end only to notice an inch long hair on his pizza. And not just one, there were actually 3! One was baked into the dough?!?! Its really repulsive to be uncertain about whether or not you ingested someone else's hair. I order gluten free dough and the dough is prepared separately at a different time. The individuals who prepared my pizza were gloved, masked and I believe they had hair nets though I cannot confirm the hair nets. But this means possibly whoever made the dough may not have worn a hair net. But it's also in the cheese? I have always had a wonderful experience with the employees here. They have always been kind and helpful. But once you find hair in your food, the old adage applies, you're only as good as the last meal you served. Hopefully, this was a fluke and will never happen again. Check your food...
Read moreReview of &pizza in Philly: If you’ve ever wondered what it would feel like to eat a memory of pizza rather than actual pizza, might I recommend a visit to &pizza in Philly? For my birthday I went with my sister and two of my closest friends into the city. My sister had boldly declared that this was the best pizza she ever had because she had ordered it another time before. We placed our order: One tray of plain pizza One tray of white pizza Garlic knots Cinnamon twists The garlic knots were delicious. They were pillowy, buttery, garlicky goodness. Unfortunately we only had like 6 knots for four people. And then… the pizza came. The pizza. The pizza was so thin, if you held it up to the light, you could probably read through it. It was a hint of pizza a whisper of pizza if you will. It was like if you faxed a pizza. When we saw this pizza we felt like they had personally betrayed us. We had just come off the high of the garlic knots, expecting more magic — instead we were chewing on what felt like the idea of pizza, not pizza itself. And it wasn’t just the plain pizza. The white pizza — which promised cheesy, garlicky heaven — was equally sad, equally thin, and equally flavorless. We found ourselves desperately trying to find flavor, like pirates looking for buried treasure, but the map was wrong and the island was a sand trap. The worst part was that it was expensive. Final verdict: Garlic knots: 10/10. Would fight someone for the last one. Cinnamon twist: Acceptable, but not worth writing home about. Pizza: 0/10. Like eating a...
Read moreMe and my two friends came here on Friday July 19th around 9pm. After &pizza was highly recommended for us to try since we were on vacation and our first time visiting Philadelphia. What immediately struck me when I entered and placed my order was that the staff couldn’t be bothered serving anyone they didn’t have best attitude towards us as customers. Firstly, the young girl took our orders whilst still wearing earphones which is just so unprofessional. Moreover, after finally ordering our pizza we asked to add on two sides of garlic knots when another member of staff appeared and said that they don’t make those after 9pm. Never have I been to get food and they sell / don’t sell based on time. If this is stated on your website or a sign in the restaurant telling customers this then I completed understand however I believe this was made up on the spot by this employee. When we asked why, she replied in such a rude way, her attitude was terrible towards us. When I googled the closing times it clearly stated that they close at 11pm so I don’t understand why we couldn’t order them especially when no explanation was given. Having worked in hospitality before myself, it’s clear that they couldn’t be bothered anymore and wanted to leave early. Ultimately, we are paying customers and expect a certain level of service and respect. I would not recommend this place to anyone due to the staff which is a shame because the pizza are very nice. I recommend they are retrained on customer service as manners and being nice cost...
