I always try to be mindful when reviewing restaurants, running a food business is tough, and I respect the effort that goes into it. But some experiences are simply unacceptable, and unfortunately, this was one of them.
I was excited to try this place, hoping for a flavorful and authentic Indian meal. The reviews on yelp and Google are pretty decent for the area, so I figured it be worth a shot! The pictures of the food also looked really good! However, what I received was overpriced, microwaved food served in disappointingly small portions. The flavors lacked depth, the textures were off, and it was clear that freshness was not a priority. Given the high prices, I expected far better quality.
We started with the Samosa Chaat, and to my surprise, it was served ice cold, something I’ve never experienced with this dish before. Hoping this was just an unfortunate misstep, we moved on to our mains, the Chicken Tikka Masala and Chili Chicken.
Now, from the moment our appetizer arrived, I had a gut feeling that the food wasn’t freshly prepared because it was so cold! But I tried to ignore the doubt. Unfortunately, before our dishes came out, I heard the unmistakable sound of a microwave from the kitchen. Seconds later, our plates were placed in front of us, confirming my worst suspicion. The rice was barely warm, and the masala lacked the comforting heat that should accompany a freshly cooked meal.
This visit left me frustrated rather than satisfied. I will not be returning, and I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are too many great places offering fresh, well-prepared Indian cuisine to settle for this kind of mediocrity, especially given the price.
If you take the time to look at the reviews, most of the reviewers are commenting the same thing, expensive, poor quality and small portions. Not sure how they’re getting the other reviews that are 5 stars unless they are paid for.
I do not recommend this place unless you want microwaved, over priced, poor...

Read moreOkay so If you saw my review for the other Amma's kitchen, you understand that I was disappointed. Today, my daughter, husband, my cousin and family decided to go to the Amma's in Philly. Oh boy, was it packed or what! My husband called to reserve a seat for 6 plus a baby. Thank goodness we did. Customer service: The guy was a bit rude, he felt the weight on his shoulder, not going to complain due to Soo much going on, honestly I would have expected better, but the one tall fair skinny server guy with the curly hair, was the only one, who was smiling and being polite, made us felt comfortable, REGARDLESS OF THE COMMOTION. COViD: Restrictions were very relaxed, I wasn't going to complain, but if you keep serving food and continue to breath on it while ur bringing it out, and to serve food without a mask! and lean over to place the food over other food, that is a problem. Restaurant/Location: (Saturday) finding parking is hard so park in a garage, the liberty place mall or street parking is more convenient. The Resturant was SO humid and hot, we felt like we were in India, not sure what happened to the AC, but we were all sweating. The tables were too small for 6 people to relax and eat. Not spacious. The bathroom 🚽 was not working. When children wanted to wash thier hands, I was encouraging hand sanitizers. The bathroom faucet looked like it was broken, not screwed in appropriately. Food: chicken 65 was salty and dry The dosa and urnavada was awesome The mulabar fish curry was awesome! Price: we wanted to take some of the urnavada home and the order was waay too expensive. We still ordered but the price was unethical.
Overall, I recommend people to go and try it, there were people lined up out the door, but for me, I'll just have it...
