A Fresh Taste of Cuba in Philadelphia - Avenida 7 Café
Recently opened, Avenida 7 Café at 1424 South St, Philadelphia, is a delightful discovery for anyone seeking a taste of Cuba in the city. The café exudes a classic and traditional vibe, providing a genuine Cuban atmosphere.
Their menu shines with a variety of exquisite coffees and sandwiches. On my first visit, I was particularly impressed with their Cuban sandwich and the Cortadito coffee - both were authentic and flavorful.
Open from 10 am to 6 pm, it’s perfect for a late breakfast or an early lunch. The ambiance is enhanced by recorded music, adding to the Cuban feel without being overpowering.
The service here stands out for its friendliness, efficiency, and helpfulness, making everyone feel welcome. As a Cuban myself, it felt like a piece of home.
The pricing is fair, with fulfilling meals possible under $25. Free Wi-Fi is available, making it a convenient spot for both work and relaxation.

Looking forward to sampling more of their authentic and reasonably priced menu....

The fried pork and sliced ham slightly melt the swiss cheese while the acid of the dill pickle slices and yellow mustard cut through that perfect pork fat. Even the bread hits just right as you’re transported to Miami’s Calle Ocho neighborhood or along the Malecon in Havana. The restaurant is just off Septa’s Broad Street Line (subway) and on Septa’s Bus Route 40. There is a fee parking lot across the street. The Center City neighborhood is...
