Since 1990, By George's has served people for their authentic Italian Cuisine, such as pizza varieties, tomato pies, lasagna, Chicken Parmesan, Spaghetti, Italian Sandwiches, and of course, their cheesesteaks. As I came into Reading Terminal Market for the first time during my recent trip out to the City of Brotherly Love, I came into the bustling market hoping to find a great Cheesesteak, and I was certainly flattered by the shear quality that this cheesesteak brought to my tastebuds. While it was $18 for just the Cheesesteak, the incorporation of Onions, Skirt Steak, Sweet Peppers, American Cheese, and a hoagie roll being a welcomed lunch for certain. The way that it was ordered, paired with the atmosphere also proved to be a dynamic duo that can only be seen in the city. The one dud to this experience were the lines that I had to encounter, just to get food. It took 12 minutes in the Cheesesteak line, but these lines are associated with coming to the area during the summer months, where the crowds are peak, even on Tuesdays, the slowest day of the week for spending. In conclusion, while the lines for this place tend to make this stall a place weird from going to, this place offers a great cheesesteak for an affordable price, but in the future, I may try the Itlaian dishes they offer.

Very poor customer service last 2 weeks!

I've been going to get salads since 2019, and everything was wonderful.

Was happy to return to the Reading Terminal after a long absence. Went there on March 11, 2022, stood in front of the salads case as usual, but no one acknowledged me--just looked. Another customer came, and we were looked at by 3 men and ignored. Finally I asked one of the guys who came from behind the counter if anyone will be waiting on me; he shrugged and looked over to the other guys. No one said anything. The other customer left but returned a few seconds later. We were still ignored even though the guys saw us. Finally, another customer who was passing us told us that we had to place orders on the other side where hot foods were. We went there to the register area, stood there, only to be told we needed to get in a long line. I left.

Today, March 18, 2022, I decided to try again to get some salad. Went to where the salads are because I saw 3 customers there and a worker. Stood next to customer in front of salads, thinking that he was next. 2 people near the pizza counter 2 feet from where I was, said the line was behind them which would be at the pizza counter. The other customer was still waiting at the salad counter and he was before me so I decided to move back to salads as I was sure the line was for pizzas (Since 2019, that's how it was done).

After the worker gave the 2 customers at the pizza counter their pizzas, he disrespectly waved his hand for me to stand in front of the pizza counter, which by the way is about 2 feet from where I was standing, and no one else, except for the man who I thought was before me was there. The worker never acknowledged the man. I told the worker that I wanted salad and he angrily said I needed to stand in front of the pizza counter. I did move but then went back to show him what salad I wanted (I couldn't see the sign in front of the bowl at the bottom shelf). He insisted that I move. I finally was able to tell him what I wanted. After paying, he handed me my bag, receipt and credit card without looking at me (turned his head towards the back area) and did not thank me. I said you're welcome. I opened the bag to find that he had not included the roll(s) that always comes with the salad. I informed him and he did not acknowledge me. I repeated and he angrily said he's not helping me and I needed to go around to the other side to the hot foods area to get a roll. A lady who had walked up noticed how rude he was a followed me to the other side, telling the workers about his rudeness. I also told them that he is rude and gives poor customer service. A woman explained that they get so busy, but I told her that he was just plain rude. Another worker shook his head and gave me the roll. I don't know why this rude worker acted the way he did towards me but he needs to not work with the public until he gets and passes customer relations training. I don't know his name, but he was a tall, slim, dark-haired, and olive complexioned man, probably in his late thirty's or early forties, with a bad attitude and a mean face.

By George used to be one of my favorite places because the salads are good, and customer service used to...

I don’t kmow whats up with this white guy with the dusty baseball cap on but he doesnt really seem to know what it is to deal with customers. 2 times previously he’s given me something I didnt order. I asked him for a tuna hoagie and instead of saying we don’t have that would you like a panini instead, he just goes and give u a panini and puts it in the bag, the first time I didnt realize until I got back to the office, thought it was a mistake. The second, I made sure to clarify that I said hoagie and he then picks up a panini to put it in the bag, I stopped him and clarified AGAIN that I said HOAGIE and he says we don’t have that…ok how about saying that rather than just giving a customer something they didnt ask for.

Today I went in and asked for cheese ziti and asked to please just be sure theres no meat in it because last time it had meat in it.

Another guy on a different trip told me sometime the pan is put in wrong so he checked and all was well. But this time, the baseball hat guy was there and didnt have the same type of kindness, instead, he literally sat there and went back n forth with me about how that never happened, its not true theres never meat in the ziti, its not possible.

I finally said to him I know what meat tastes like, to which his reply was well Im just telling you that’s not possible, there was never meat in the ziti and proceeded to put the ziti in the container. At this point I was already turned off so I told him he can keep his ziti since its worth fighting over.

I could see if I was nasty but it was a simple request. Since when is it wrong to just ask to make sure mine doesnt have meat?

Does this company even notice its rating is going down? Do they even see their crowd that used to surround their business has really thinned out? Do they consider maybe this is why? Prob not, it must be nice to have the privledge of being inconsiderate toward people who are paying...
