I’ve been ordering from Sumo Sushi for nearly 6 years now, but today I have to replace my 5-star review with a 1-star review.
I ordered lunch for myself during work today as a treat, and specifically chose the scheduled delivery option for 2:15. I knew I would be unreachable until 2-2:10, and due to the nature of my job I wouldn’t be able to retrieve an order or answer my phone until then. I figured 2:15 gave me a good buffer to make sure I was available to receive the order. I even included in my delivery instructions to not deliver earlier than 2:15 because I would not be able to retrieve the order before then.
Well, at 1:50 I started getting phone calls that my delivery arrived. I could not answer the phone, and I got 5 or 6 calls in short succession. At 2:00 I was finally able to leave and go outside, where I was then yelled at by the delivery driver. Apparently it was my fault that he hadn’t read the very clear instructions of the scheduled delivery OR my additional delivery note. He shouted at me in front of my coworkers like I was a child, it was so embarrassing and frustrating considering it was his mistake. I didn’t receive an apology, and unfortunately I had already tipped him ahead of time.
Why include the option for scheduled delivery if you aren’t going to follow it, and then berate your customer for not being ready 25 minutes before the scheduled time? I wish I could say this is the first time I’ve had a sour interaction with Sumo’s delivery staff but this was the third and my final time ordering from this establishment. I’m not giving my money to a restaurant that treats...
   Read moreThe ONLY reason this place is getting one start is because there is not an option for no stars. Delivery man was very rude and came to my door demanding not asking DEMANDING a tip and refusing to give me my food that was already paid for until I tipped him. When I asked him to call his boss the boss told me that they don't charge for delivery and it's American custom to tip. I have no problem with that but tips are only giving from me when I receive good service. After he finally gave me my food And I opened it the bag leaked on my clothes, the dumplings were over cooked, the sushi was nasty as hell, and they sent what I'm guessing was some kind of soup that smells like sewer water. I will never order from here again and hope everyone else will save their money and not spend it...

My girlfriend and I split a Seaweed Salad and three signature rolls - Green Dragon Roll (our favorite roll), a Nagoya Roll, and Yummy Roll. The sushi was not terrible but it was not my favorite. The textures of the rolls became a bit soft and mushy; when trying to pick up rolls with chopsticks, they collapsed on themselves. It could have been from the delivery time but I typically order sushi delivery and have not had this issue from other places. The Seaweed Salad was fairly standard. On the positive side, their prices do seem to beat others in the area. For now though, I’ll stick with a few places I enjoyed more like Tsuki Sushi, Machi Sushi Bar, Fuji Mountain,...
