Kei is all about the food. They have a very healthy take-out business, but are trying hard to create a legit dine-in business. The South Street restaurant is pretty small with about a dozen tables, but they've clearly made some effort on the decor to take it one step above your basic hole-in-the -wall take-out sushi joint. Having said all that, the food is probably the best Sushi I've had in a really long time, and having the food served to you right out of the kitchen means it's that much more fresh and delicious. My dining companions and I ordered about 8 different rolls and assorted dumplings, and everying was super. And, as an added surprise, the food was served in large exquisite serving boats (see photos). The restuarant is also BYOB, so that makes it a great value

My favorite sushi place in Philadelphia! Small, cozy, friendly service and DELICIOUS FOOD!!! I’ve been ordering delivery and pick-ups for 4 years! However, I love to dine in! The place is intimate and welcoming due to the great atmosphere and friendly hosts! The quality is incredibly consistent! I have never been disappointed with a single order! The regular rolls are prepared with the same care as the special rolls! Even their miso soup is way beyond the normal miso soup experience! You can bring your own alcoholic beverage or just enjoy their fresh tea, which they never let go empty (again, very attentive and friendly hosts!) I highly suggest Kei Sushi if you are into Japanese cuisine and are looking for a classic and delicious experience!

This place was great! The Sushi is amazing with a huge variety. We didn't know that the took reservations so we seated ourselves at the 4 person sushi bar. The staff was very attentive to my friends and I, offering suggestions and getting us sake cup for our BYOB. Definitely try the Kei 1, the spider, and any of the south rolls. Most rolls are from $6-8 with specialty rolls from $14-17. The mochi is also very good along with red bean and ice cream. I will definitely be back in the future. I hope kei sushi gets on more people's lists for sushi in Philly.

Best sushi restaurant in Philly! If you r a fan of sushi and have taste sushi in Japan, you will know the rice taste very good, as im a big fan of rice rather than fish anyway. all the fish are very fresh, and if you r lucky there is this female sushi chef who is very good at design omakase, but let me remind you, omakase price is very high too. The decor is not too much (which make it more classy imo), warmth environtment, and staff are friendly and helpful. Totally reccommended! We tried from sashimi, omakase, nigiri to desert, takoyaki, skewers, and the taste did not dissappoint. In fact, my husband want to eat this everydaye as he likes their...
