Itâs was Sunday night last night and I was hungry for pizza so I decide to order on Uber Eats. Sounds pretty standard and pretty reasonable. I decided to try La Scalaâs Pronto as I saw them listed in the pizza section. Uber eats notified me that this restaurant would be delivering through their own delivery person.
I received a call that my order arrived and I went outside to receive it. I have to admit I was disgusted and appalled at how the gentleman delivering my order treated me. I noticed that he slowly climbed up the steps once he saw me - which was a bit of a delayed pace compared to when he was walking on the sidewalk. I didnât think much of it, but his handoff helped me further understand that what I was seeing I wasnât just making up in my head.
The gentleman didnât even complete physically handing off my order before he began to gripe at me (the paying customer) about the distance between the drop off location and the restaurant. âThis is kind of far, you know, this is out of my zoneâ, is what he initially uttered. I didnât know what sort of response I could offer him. I ordered through Uber eats, and in my experience if a restaurant is too far, the app will automatically not enable me to place an order due to distance. Additionally, I didnât see or hear anyone complaining about distance when I was submitted payment for the delivery fee as well as the other taxes and fees piled on top of the subtotal.
As he was walking away his complaints continued. He then directed me, ânext time check and see where the restaurant is, itâs in South Philly.â
Thatâs disrespectful. If there is an issue with distance, that has nothing to do with me but regardless of that, Iâm confused as to why the establishment or their representative/delivery person felt so brave to voice a complaint to me - a paying customer - after accepting my good money. Thatâs trash behavior and itâs terrible to be treated like this after spending my money with this restaurant.
I was back and forth about whether or not I should submit my feedback. My Sunday night shouldnât be spent writing about my negative experience of a pizza delivery. But here we are.
Maybe I could have ordered a better tasting pizza, but the food didnât merit more than 2.5/5 stars anyway, as far as taste. If it werenât for the rudeness of the delivery person, Iâd give the order a fair 3/5 stars just to be kind but given my experience, Iâd submit 0/5 stars if I could.
Itâs a shame that itâs 2024 and this is how deliveries. There are plenty of other places to give a shot in Philly for...
Read moreI was extremely shocked. I ordered over the phone and the cashier put me on hold without even asking me to hold. Then she rushed me off the phone after she took my order. I just assumed it was busy due to the poor lack of service. When I got home with my food I realized she gave me the wrong order. I called about the mix up and was told to come back. You would think she'd apologize for the inconvenience but she just gave me the. Correct order when I got in. So of course I checked it prior to leaving. Once I got home there was a hair in the middle of my pasta I called back asked for the manager and was placed back on hold only to be hung up on after a minute. I have never written a store rating before but this made me do so. I've eating at prontos/lascala before on spring garden and experienced great food and service but its really going down hill from the standards it had previously. If the young lady stayed off her phone and oaid more attention to the orders these things wouldnt occur. If these incidents aren't corrected they will need Gordon Ramsey to help them save the establishment. If your reading this please spend your money elsewhere. SSincerely your...
Read moreWent to lascalas on south street....... the staff seem to be in one of those playful kind of slow day States and when I came in folks were kind of slow to give me any service I ordered two plain slices of pizza and ask for them to be prepared for dining in the young man took and made the slices he did them up but then he boxed the slices. In boxing the slices he placed one slice on top of the other so when I open the box the one slice on top of the other slice had removed the cheese from the bottom one.I presented this stuff to the staff and the staff for a second acted as if they didn't know what to do or care to do anything they then said that they would make me a new slice if I want it. t They then passed the slices between two or three different employees because the guy who originally did it seem to not care to fix his mistake. Disgusted at what I was seeing I immediately demanded a refund the young lady said well we're going to give you your slices .I replied no I cannot eat behind negative people I can't have negative people preparing my food that's just not acceptable
Came to Giovannis.....the usual spot.....my slices were done before I...
