★☆☆☆☆ 1/5 – Disappointed & Disrespected at Lovebite Dumpling 😞🥟
My sister and I were genuinely excited to check out Lovebite Dumpling in Downtown Phoenix after hearing some buzz about their dumplings. Unfortunately, our experience was completely derailed by the poor service — especially from a staff member named Lily.
From the jump, Lily made us feel unwelcome. ❌ Her attitude was cold, rushed, and frankly, rude. There was zero hospitality — no smile, no explanation of the menu, no basic courtesy. And to make things worse, she was not even dressed appropriately to be preparing or handling food — which made us question the overall cleanliness and standards. ⚠️
But what really made us uncomfortable was the clear sense of bias we felt. As two proud Latinos 🇲🇽, it was painful to feel dismissed and treated with indifference while others were greeted more warmly. Whether intentional or not, the vibe felt racially charged, and that has no place in any customer-facing space, especially in a diverse area like Phoenix. 🏙️
We came ready to enjoy the food, the dumplings, the moment — but left feeling invisible and insulted. 😔 What should’ve been a fun outing turned into a real disappointment.
Management really needs to reassess their staffing choices, customer service training, and commitment to inclusivity. 💼✨ If Lovebite wants to thrive in this community, they need to align their brand with people who uplift it — not tear it down with attitude and exclusion.
Sadly, we won’t be back — but we hope no one else has to feel what...
Read moreFirst time last night eating here and what an experience! I tried a little bit of rice and noodles, which were awesomely colorful. The rice was my favorite of the two, with hints of a lemon taste. I would go back for the rice alone because it was so yummy. They had an an assortment of dumplings to choose from, shrimp, pork, chicken, vegetarian and I think beef. I stuck to pork (my favorite) and shrimp. They weren't pan fried, which I'm very thankful for but rather steamed and fresh. While my box was being made, I watched fresh patches of dumplings come out of the kitchen. While the rice was my favorite item, the dumplings were fresh, it was the sauce that will drive to becoming a repeat customer. This is the only flaw with the place is I wish I had asked for more sauce. But I like to drown my food too. I loved the container/ box it came in, very unique and sleek looking with chopsticks on top. Never seen anything like that and it was pretty cool and original. Another complaint I had was the size of the shop. It was small, the line was long too but it moved fairly quickly. My wait time was about 5 to 10 minutes. There were a few small tables out front to sit but there was nothing inside. Thankful it was a nice evening out. I definitely will...
Read moreWhere do I start… I knew this place was gonna be a let down as soon as I asked to taste the different sauces because I was not familiar with them and they had the audacity to say you can but it’s gonna cost you .50 cents to try them. Like how are you going to charge to try a sauce on a newly opened restaurant when it’s your first time trying it? Ridiculous. Next was they didn’t have any chop sticks. They had a nice box with chop stick holders but no chop sticks. Then the cherry on top. My coworker found a long dark hair in her box and we ordered the same thing. So I spent the next 5 minutes looking through my box making sure I didn’t suffer the same fate. Now on to the food. I got the noodles as the base. I would have probably been happier with noodles from Panda Express maybe even a cheap buffet. The chicken dumplings were just okay. Nothing great and nothing special. The sauces that they wanted to charge me guacamole money for was pretty “meh”. Overall this would the first and last time I would eat here especially at $13. I guess in hindsight going to an establishment who purposely uses illustrations of a man’s naked butt on their signage, I should have known the experience was going to be reflective of...
