Samurai Sam's — Restaurant in Phoenix

On October 12th, 2022, I was deciding to eat at Chipotle or Samari Sam's next door. I noticed there was nobody in SS and Chipotle had a long line so I decided to eat at Samari Sam's so I can get home faster (BIG mistake). I've learned my lesson. When there is nobody in a establishment, RUN!!

At 605pm, Store#5017 on 30th Ave/Peoria I ordered 3 large dark meat chicken teriyaki bowls to go and 1 egg roll: $29.50+$2tip: $31.50

The pictures advertised outside and inside had fresh colorful veggies & chicken looked delicious. After placing my order I noticed the cook didn't grill anything and everything was pre-prepped in heat containers. I asked the cashier how fresh everything is and she told me it was fresh but if I wanted real fresh come in when they open, Again, another red flag I've should of caught but my hunger altered mind affected my decision making at the time.

I get home and give my son, daughter and myself the bowls. We each took several bites and we immediately were not happy with our meal and tossed it in the trash.

Chicken was old, not fresh Veggies were very soggy and mushy (after 5 minute drive).

I blame myself as well for 3 reasons:

The red flags: 1.Samari Sam's was empty I was the only one there, (No joke!) Chipotle had a long line! Cashier told me they make there grilled meats when they open! The Reviews! Check the reviews! I didn't, my mistake!

I was going to call and complain but after looking at the reviews I decided to post instead.

Not Happy at all with this place serving this type of food and forgot to mention my egg roll was also...

This is a place that became familiar. Quickly! I think it comes from the people that built this house. At least once a week, I call these wonderful folks. It's almost the same order every time. By the time I'm ready with one of my mildly wise-arse comments, they'll either recognize the voice or my phone number and it's like Sunday dinner with the family. The prices are great, the food is very good, but the thing that impresses me most is the personal investment that they have in their clientele. It all comes back full circle: the restaurant is clean, the servers address the guests personally, it's always as I order it and more often than not, BEFORE the quoted time. Those are guidelines to one end, a satisfied guest. As long as they keep operating with that principle in mind, they will always have a return visit from me. And these standards are held by everybody from the owners, to the folks up front and the folks in the back. I've met the owner several times and this is definitely goals that he and his staff focus on for every guest and you can tell from the moment you walk in the door, until the time the tables are cleared. This is one of a handful of places that I don't have to look through the bag to be sure the order is right. I realized that I haven't talked much about the food but, I can tell you with this much they put into the service of it, you can tell that bench mark of quality is there...

clean but sparse place, not made for comfort to relax and eat. service friendly and efficient. I ordered the Salmon citrus salad advertised on a plaque near the register. The details said spinach and didn't mention iceberg lettuce and that's exactly why I ordered that. I got a cold bottle drink from the small cooler and said my order was to go. She hadn't asked that but it was already on the receipt and orders before mine were in plastic bag so that's probably the default choice over eating in. I went straight away walking to my nearby appointment thinking I had time for my late lunch. No fork no napkin in my bag, not sure if they were somewhere out of view or if we need to ask for those. I wasn't expecting that with a to go salad, most places afford a packet with them included. I opened the lid to see all iceberg lettuce not one shred of spinach. I then checked the receipt which had my name typed in,and saw I'd apparently ordered a chicken salad and bought a different beverage. At paying the price was right and I didn't have my reading glasses on so im not sure what that's about... I did get a piece of thin large farm raised salmon atop the iceberg lettuce but the amount of veggies to be included as advertised seemed very inadequate. I had to stow my lunch in my purse so 2 hours later I wasn't sure if it was good to eat, being warm salad and cold salmon. That's my first and now last time I'll...
