After multiple TikTok scrolls, I finally decided to try Tacos Los Vales. You can be a few blocks away, and you can hear Mexican music coming from the business, so you already know the atmosphere is what you’re looking for— especially before a hyped event such as a baseball/basketball game, convention, or concert.

I loaded my plate with 4 tacos: 2 chicharrón en salsa verde, 1 carne asada, and 1 cabeza. I placed my order, and no kidding, it was ready in 5 minutes. Another indication that you’re at the right place. Of course I had to get all the toppings they had from their self-serving topping station that is decked out with fresh salsa, garnish, and more. Once prepped, my tacos were DELICIOUS. My favorite was the cabeza taco. So flavorful, so filling, and so cheap (for restaurants in downtown).

I can now officially tell you that every one of those good reviews is well earned. Glendy and Mariana were both very sweet and gave me some great recommendations since it was my first time there. I had the Quesabirria, Cabeza, and Tacos Vampiros. Everything was so good I couldn't stop eating it. The meat was so tender and the flavors just explode in your mouth.
