When I was staying at the Omni William Penn Hotel in Pittsburgh, I got to experience a part of their historical part, their restaurant called the Terrace Room. This hotel screamed history from the moment I waked in, which was awesome. There were plenty of seating, and the architecture was really amazing, They have original molded plaster ceiling with mahogany arches. Beautiful chandeliers and elegant atmosphere. This restaurant was opened in 1916, and I got to peek into the history even just a little but by being in this space. The variety of the buffet was pretty nice, I was liking what I was seeing. They had eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravy, and so much more. What I enjoyed the most was their smoked salmon. Very fresh and tasty! Unfortunately, I was not super hungry, so I didn’t get as much as I wanted to try. I did get some eggs, breakfast potatoes, smoked salmon, blueberry maple sausage patty, mini muffin and fresh fruits. They were all pretty tasty and I had no complaints. Their special sausage patty was juicy and packed with flavor, and smoked salmon was meaty and fresh. They were not amazing, but I was happy with their offerings. The server was very nice and friendly. Food was better than I expected, especially the selections. I wish if I was hungry enough to have more… Regardless, I had a nice breakfast here, surrounded by rich history. Read my full review of the restaurant and food on my food blog, foodlovergirl.

We visited The Terrace Room for the Sunday morning brunch buffet and we couldn't be more pleased! It was just a lovely morning. The food and service was incredible. The atmosphere is elegant. This was just a great place to celebrate and unwind during the holiday season. I highly recommend the chef's special eggs - a scrambled egg dish flavored with peppers and tomatoes. And a trip to the made-to-order omelette station is certainly a must! You can customize your order and watch it be prepared to your delight! Great experience! Will definitely visit again.

The terrace room is located in the Omni Hotel at William Penn place in downtown Pittsburgh. This historic building is beautifully maintained, and when I walked into the lobby I was struck by how lovely it is. The restaurant is no less impressive then the lobby. The wait staff was polite, friendly and extremely attentive. I had the breakfast buffet which was excellent with a wide variety of items including a super friendly cook who will make your omelet to order all as part of the buffet. Very highly recommended.

Went here for a nice brunch while in Pittsburgh. Was disappointed with the level of service. While the atmosphere is beautiful, the service did not match the setting. I ordered a veggie omelet and berries (with chia, flax and lemon spritz). I received a ham and cheese omelet and mixed fruit. She got every part of my order wrong, and I had to wait for a new omelet. The only thing she got right was my tea, which she decided not to charge me for because of the mistake. But I was charged for the ham and cheese omelet (which was $1 more than the veggie omelet that I ordered) and the fruit that I decided to just eat rather than send back to the kitchen and wait additional time for the correct order. We were looking forward to brunch at the Omni, and left disappointed that we did not receive the breakfast that we were looking forward to. Would not recommend due to...

I booked a reservation a week in advance using Open Table for a 1:15 afternoon tea. This was a special occasion to celebrate my mother's birthday and she was driving in from out of town. I received a call less than an hour before. They told me that they weren't open past 1 pm and we'd have to either come earlier or cancel the reservation (this is after we had confirmed the reservation the day before). The employee was not apologetic and were rude. We tried to make this work but it wasn't possible due to my mother's travel arrangements. I received an email this evening from Open Table saying that I was a 'no show'. How could that be if they were closed according to the employee!? This was a huge disappointment and ruined a special day we had been...
