Learn moreMay 2021:] Horrible! Waited 1/2 hour in car for table-ready text. Seated at table as other customers walked out. After long wait server came to take our order, then suddenly said 'I'll be Right Back!'. After another excessive wait, she returned and a runner brought water. Glasses very wet so flagged down a runner to ask for napkins which we used. After a very long wait we got 2 plates of salad same time as our hot entrees. Salad had way too many brown leaves so after picking out several, I gave up & asked for new salad. Less brown leaves in 2nd salad. Server returned to ask if all was good & we asked her once for water refill, another time for more honey mustard, another time for A-1 steak sauce, all which she said she'd bring right away but didn't. So we had to flag down runners even for a black pepper shaker after we had waited patiently for her return. She finally came after we flagged down the others, only to present us our check, without concern that we had not yet received our dessert. We waited & the FROZEN cheesecake came out & was too hard to cut! Left $0.00 tip at the end of a very long night! Asked to talk to the manager & a young man squared off in front of me to ask what I wanted, as if---how dare I talk to him? I told him they need to check the quality of their food & mentioned we like to eat our 'greens', not our 'browns'. He was so cryptic in his response that I decided not to mention the horrible lack of service. We decided not to include Plainfield Chili's in our selection for eating out the rest of the year, though my Cold steak tasted good but cold (as was my friend's 'original crispers' meal). Would have preferred to have been served in a timely manner & left in a timely manner, especially since the middle dining room thinned out so drastically as we entered! For us, no more Frozen Cheesecake or brown salads accompanied by rudeness! We took frozen cheesecake home & let it thaw 24 hours before eating it. [Next Year Visit: JANUARY 2023. Accompanied Friend to Chili's & got excellent service from new server! Late p.m. & 4 Salty Non-Original Chicken Crispers (original is no longer on menu). "Crispers" were hard & chewy (? re-microwaved? after being fried in oil?) Our choices of 'Loaded' mashed potatoes were heavy on the Salt but very light on the 'loaded'. A few diced onions & 1 small dollop of cheese in oversalted potatoes. Gave good server of sub-standard meals at $12-$13, a substantial cash tip + remainder of my gift card so as to Never Have a Reason to Come Back Again!! ...
Read moreTerrible food made for experience. We drove for 45 minutes to get here, because we love Chili's, and we were excited for a date night. Our wait time for a table was 20 minutes; makes sense for a Friday night, and they were extremely busy. We got seated even quicker and were ready to order. Our chips and salsa might have well have been salt and salsa. I have never so much salt on my chips before! We both wiped the chips on extra napkins and ate them. We didn't want to send them back because they seemed so slammed already and we thought it could only go up from there. Wrong. They brought us the wrong food with our order. We ordered a smokehouse plate and got only two parts of the correct order. So when the waitress reappeared after a bit of time, we told her about the mistake. She assured us she would get us the correct food right away, but it took another 30 minutes. And when the right food was brought out to us, it was cold and tasted stale. We were told the kitchen was just so slammed, which was what was causing the problems. We don't blame the waitress; she was very sweet and apologetic and we could tell it had been a rough night for her. She got our food comped, but still...how can a kitchen be that incompetent just because they were busy? Is it like that every weekend night? Pretty sad excuse for a restaurant to screw up...
We won't go back. There are tons of other restaurants in Plainfield; pick any one...
Read moreWe got here at 9, wasn’t too busy. we ordered within 10 minutes of being here. The table in front of us ordered after us, and a table arrived about 9:30 and ordered. 40 minutes of waiting and we still hadn’t gotten our food! we even asked our server and he just looked at his screen and said it’s been sent. well the table in front of us got a hugeee tray of food, still before us. and the table behind us got a hugeee tray of food, still before us! i just ordered a side order of mac n cheese and my dinner partner ordered chicken crispers, same as what the table behind us ordered, but they still got theirs first. after waiting about 10 more minutes the server came back over and i asked him to just put the food in boxes, and when mine still hadn’t come i was about to just leave. mind you we already paid 10 minutes prior to this. my food finally came right before i was about to get up and i left as quick as i could. if there was a manager here, i should’ve spoken with you. I’m not sure if the server forgot to place our order or what happened but it just seemed unacceptable. i understand that because ive been in that situation before too, i wouldn’t have been mad but nobody said anything, they just kept saying “it’s coming” “it’s still not out.” transparency is really important in these situations. i don’t even think it was worth...
