After a long, sun-soaked day at the beach with my son, I thought, âWhat better way to end the day than a father-son Blizzard run?â We rolled into DQ sandy, tired, and ready for that sweet, frozen reward. I ordered a Double Cookie Dough Blizzard â $8 of pure dessert glory (or so I thought).
What I got, vanilla ice cream, should have went to Sam's and saved $7.
The top had a few shy pieces of cookie dough peeking out like they were afraid of commitment. But the bottom 75%? Straight vanilla ice cream. No chunks. No swirls. No joy. Just cold, creamy disappointment.
By the time we noticed, we were already cruising down the interstate, my son digging through his for gold that wasnât there. He gave me a look like I let him down. And maybe I did⌠by trusting too much.
The drive-thru staff were polite â no complaints there â but câmon DQ: if Iâm paying $8 for a Blizzard, I expect at least one cookie dough chunk per bite, not per zip code.
DQ, people donât just come to you for ice cream. They come for tradition, memory, and a cupful of happiness to cap off a great day. Quality matters. Especially when itâs one of the few sweet treats a dad and his kid get to share after a long day making memories.
Do better, Blizzard team. I believed in you.

Read moreNot only have I had a bad experience at this restaurant once, but twice. The first experience was when my husband and I ordered two blizzards to go. After waiting 30 minutes my husband went to the counter and asked about the status of our order. Everyone who came in after us had already been served. They stated they gave our food to someone else so not only did e not receive our order, someone else received the wrong order. We laughed about it and finally received our order, which after getting in the car we discovered it was not our order. Once again we laughed and did not complain. The manager gave us "free coupons" for a meal the next visit. Today we decided to try it again so with our "free meal coupons" in hand we ordered 2 chicken strip baskets and 2 small blizzards. The meal cost us 12 bucks which after reading the sign I discovered anyone could get the same thing without the "coupon". Once again we laughed and paid for our food. Upon arrival home we discovered the chicken strips were extremely small and there was hardly any food in the box. Needless to say, we are done with this establishment! They have taken enough of our money!!!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY...
Read moreHorrible experiences here. Last week waited in line for 25 minutes(4 cars ahead) and today waited in line for ANOTHER 20 minutes on a slow rainy day with THREE cars ahead. Long waits have allways been a problem here, but the food is good so we come back. Never again after today. Once at the window I was greeted by an employee who told me my by one get one coupon was only valid for two small blizzards. I had ordered one medium and one small. I expected too pay full price for the medium. NOPE! They said they could not do it, that it had to be two smalls. It would have meant more money in the till at the end of the day but that would not work. Keep in mind she KNEW about my coupon from the moment I placed the order and instead of telling me then I had to waste 20 minutes out of my day to hear this.. I cancelled my order causing them to loose a sale from me today. My wife and I frequent this establishment about once a week and could be considered regular customers. After this and due to the declining standards of service we will NEVER be back. Management and ownership should be ashamed at the state of...
