Lighthouse Cafe — Restaurant in Port Lavaca

Visiting my parents who really like this place, however I was very dissatisfied with the lack of customer service by the waitress, I believe her name is Christy. My 75 yr old father did not understand the menu and thought that his meal included a salad. When he brought this up to Christy, her response to my Dad was that "he should have read the menu better." I was flabbergasted and told her not to speak like that, at which point she turned her disgusting attitude towards me to tell me that she was not being disrespectful and that she's been very busy. I asked her to leave our table, which, she didn't and continued to tell my Dad how the menu is worded. I do not care how busy you are, what I care about is good customer service. A little empathy for an elderly man would have gone a long way. P.S. You ABSOLUTELY are disrespectful. I was at the Lighthouse for lunch with five other people. After being politely directed to take a table, we sat and were promptly asked what we would like to drink, and soon afterward, we ordered. I ordered the breaded catfish filled plate with fried okra and fresh fries (there were other sides to choose from). The plate was served about ten minutes after the order was placed, and it came out piping hot. The fries were run of the mill, good but not special, and the okra was good as well; it was the catfish that was remarkable but not in a good way. I love fried catfish, really any kind of fish except sushi, but this fillet wasn't great. It was edible, just not great - to much breading, not enough fish, and the fish was a little soupy. I ate it all nevertheless. The restaurant is great for seniors, and I'm sure everything else is great, but today, the fish wasn't. Give them a try it is worth it (prices are reasonable), but I'd think twice before ordering the fish....

Came here because of the 4 star rating, was very underwhelmed. Hostess was busy with other tables & had us seat ourselves. No biggie. But then had two other tables come in after us and were served before us. Decided to have the buffet but since other tables were served first, the buffet was shut down before we could let the waitress know, so had to order off the menu. While waiting for our food, a kitchen worker stormed out and made sure everyone in the restaurant knew it with her loud, foul language. More power to you, but we had our 4 year old with us. No apologies came from any of the staff for that outburst either. The food itself was very underwhelming. We had a burger, sandwich, and kids grilled cheese.
