Function NW — Restaurant in Portland

We rented out the entire space for our 28 person wedding reception. Jenn was our venue coordinator and she went above and beyond. She helped me think of ideas for decorations within my budget, gave vendor suggestions and just made the day go so smoothly. Our reception (which is admittedly a large part of the wedding day) was the thing I needed to worry about the least because Jenn was so on the ball with everything. The bartenders from Function were also amazing and kept drinks flowing for our guests all night and were just all around fun to talk with.

We rented tables and a tent so we could have dinner on the back porch at Function (thank goodness for the tent, because it's been such a rainy June this year). After dinner guests moved inside for our first dance and some toasts while Jenn and some additional staff quickly took down the tables and chairs from dinner. For the rest of the evening we had cornhole setup on the back porch with additional seating for people to hang out if they didn't want to be inside. Function's concept is really exciting. They have a rotating cast of breweries that don't normally distribute in Oregon (or distribute just a small amount) that take over their 2 taprooms. As of 2025 they are now doing 2 breweries a month where one brewery primarily takes over their NW location and the other takes over their NE location. This includes not just draft offerings, but packaged cans/bottles, glassware and other merchandise.

Some examples of the outstanding breweries they've worked with in the last year include Slice Beer Co, North Park Brewing, Highland Park Brewery, Green Cheek Beer Co and Ghost Town Brewing (just to name a few). Often times the breweries also collaborate on new beer with other local breweries, companies or the other brewery of the month.

Incredibly unprofessional. Was in contact with an owner about an employee who decided to target me for using their restroom, after disclosing I was trans. I am hoping the business changes its tune & practices inclusivity because they offer a unique service, but I'm not holding out hopes. I am also disabled & to be harassed about using a public facility really turned me off to a place I used to love. I frequented here for years only to be treated poorly by management & have business ownership condone it. Never recommending this place to anyone again & community members should avoid...
