We turned up here for brunch one morning. I ordered 2 eggs and toast, my husband ordered the breakfast burrito. However, they had run out of wraps. Instead of telling us this and giving my husband the chance to order something different, we were just left sitting there. Over half an hour later (I was really hungry by this point) I went up to the chef's window and plaintively looked through. The horrible waitress pounced on me wanting to know what I was doing - no, she couldn't hurry our food along, no, she had no idea what was going on, blah blah blah. I asked if we could have more coffee (she hadn't come back to offer refills).
She came back over with coffee and subjected us to a simply bizarre harangue about how she had nothing to do with what happened in the kitchen and that out food would coming at some point. With hindsight we should have just walked out at this point and gone somewhere else - I mean, whatever happened to presenting a united face and working as a team!?
Anyway, our so-so food did eventually arrive, probably about 50 minutes after we ordered it. Bear in mind we are talking scrambled eggs, toast, and a shop-bought wrap with eggs and stuff in here. The weirdo waitress ranted about the kitchen again and told us she was going to take the cost of the coffee off our check. Well wow.
We ate here on Sunday 16th August. If the owner or manager reads this review, he should check who was serving that morning and fire her, she really...
Read moreWe came for lunch on Sunday. We didnt realize that patrons are expected to order food and drinks at the bar. There were a total of probably 9 customers in the restaurant including us. There were three people working the floor and a few more in the kitchen. We sat there for probably 5 minutes before I saw a gal go to the bar to get a drink. The floor staff was sitting at the bar doing practically nothing. Why not politely let us know that we were expected to grab menus ourselves and order from the bar? There were no signs that I could see, we looked. We ordered a couple of beers and some food. Food came. No one came back to check on us. Then, we had to sit there and watch while one of the floor employees took one of the kitchen employees out front, where he very visibly berated him and then, I'm assuming, fired him, literally right outside the windows where we were sitting. It was unprofessional and frankly, uncomfortable. I made several efforts to smile and engage with the front staff when ordering and then when paying, and was met with cool nonchalance attitudes by both the firing bartender and the girl who stood there working on a crossword puzzle. Maybe just an off day but suffice it to say, we were far from impressed with the service. $41 for two beers and two sandwiches, before tip...we'll go somewhere with actual table service and a staff that acts like they give a...
Read moreThe restaurant fills most of the space at this location and deservedly so given the good homestyle food they serve. Plus it comes in decent portions and is priced fairly reasonably. There is a fully stocked selection for just about anyone's favorite drink at the small but very functional bar when you first walk in but due to size and being located directly in the walkway seating is extremely limited there. Your choices are:
