After a day of exploring, we stopped into The King’s Head Pub for some early afternoon cocktails and were pleasantly surprised by this cozy and inviting tavern-style establishment. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it the perfect spot to unwind.

Our bartender, Julie, was exceptional—extremely personable and skilled. She crafted wonderful cocktails that added to the overall charm of the experience.

We also sampled the Chicken Truffle Fries, which were a flavorful treat. The fries were perfectly cooked, the truffle sauce was rich and delicious, and the chicken on top was tender and packed with taste. The Scottish Egg was another highlight—a true delight! The egg was cooked to perfection with a slightly gooey center, encased in a well-fried outer coating of seasoned sausage and panko that was absolutely mouthwatering.

This pub offers a wonderful combination of great drinks, excellent food, and a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a comfortable and...

Wednesday evening, 1/21/2015, the owner so embarrassed and humiliated a young woman server that she came to our table of six near tears and apologized for not being able to stay and further serve us. She said the owner was being very rude to her (we witnessed some of this rudeness). Shortly after she departed, the owner approached our table saying he didn't know what had happened and implied the problem was the server. He also said that he and the cook would be serving us, though he did not bring water after we requested it. I told him we saw him being rude to the server; in reply, he said that he didn't think he was rude and said he was sorry if I thought so. I repeated that he was, in fact. rude. He then got the chef to serve us and later called in another server who apologized for the "confusion." I told him there was no "confusion". It was clear the owner had acted badly and did not acknowledge his abusive behavior. He owes the young woman an acknowledgement, apology, and the lost wages...

We were there April 2024. The Chowder and bread was to die for! We shouldn’t have ordered more…this bowl was more than enough to be full…but full is relative! THIS was the best chowder of my life! This was the kind of “full” you feel when it was perfection of flavor making all things right with the world! We would return to Ireland just for this chowder alone! Sourcing fresh catch of the day and this chowder was the result of it! Pay no attention to the comments that this is a tourist place! Sometimes don’t you wonder what people are even thinking when they say things like this. We so loved this place and our darling waitress and the drinks were also perfection! Planning our next visit around Galway just so we can experience this any day we choose! You will NOT be disappointed…just go and enjoy! Your friends from...

This pub has quickly become my new favorite! As you walk in and seat yourself at a table, you'll sense the local charm. The food is consistently fresh, and the draft list boasts an impressive array of unique options. The fried pickles were a standout – apologies for the picture taken post-indulgence! I personally loved the steak and cheese, though my husband found it a bit small; he's eager to return for the crispy fish and chips. The falafel sandwich had the right portion size, but it could use more sauce and veggies (not pictured). The fries are delicious, and the burgers are satisfyingly thick (also not pictured). Gluten-free buns are an option. My son raved about the wings, though he felt they were a bit pricey. Discovering this gem took us far too long, but we'll definitely be back!

Trendy feel, cozy seating, and an overall fine gastropub to grab some great tasting food and some great service. So, two things I didn't enjoy here, I'm not crazy about the soft drink options, but at least they're locally sourced, and not big brand name sodas. Big ups for that, but also, it did deter me from getting another one. The flavor didn't sell me. Eh, water is healthier anyway. Also, they like to put cheese on their fries. I didn't order cheese on my fries, I actually ordered a hamburger without cheese, so I definitely didn't want 1.5" long, rock hard, sticky, stringy chunks of cheese on my fries. All-in-all a good place to bring either your workmates, or a group of friends. Solid choice for small and medium sized groups alike.
