Sept 2021 Prattville AL Was looking forward to stopping here & getting dinner to go since Montgomery closed the 1 there. Needless to say ⭐⭐⭐'s tells u how well it was from start to finish. Had 3 orders & was disappointed since my craving for McAllister was the gravy they "use to have" on menu. 1st impression was chairs stacked on tables with ½ dining area closed off. I realize folks want to go home but to me if the hrs state closing at say 7p or 9p whatever it is then don't shut down 1hr, 45mins or anytime before stated closing time. Clean up for closing should b done after doors r locked. Don't like sweeping under my table or having to move a few times as I wait for 2 go order for guy to mop around me(& no sign for wet floor) If accident happens like spilled drink etc of course there's going to b cleaning where u r. Wait time for 2 sandwiches 1 potato shouldn't need to take 30 mins. A couple was waiting when we walked in for their to-go food & it took a while. Then our order. Club wasn't to have mustard, baked potato was to b small normal size with butter, s.cream, .50 cheese, $1⁰⁰ bacon on top of reg chg. Got home & it was big Potato with about ¼ or less cup of cheese & 1 strip of bacon. With their topping I added same stuff so it would b a loaded potato. Over cooked, unable to eat skin & had to get our steak knife to cut it. Ham/cheese melt was DELICIOUS! Asked cashier if sandwiches came with sides & she said yes... well I reckon they do when u r charged for them (Potato salad & chili) both sandwiches came with dill pickle strip. No drinks came with anything & wasn't about to add more to my bill. 1girl working register/taking orders & if order was for table she took it. 2 tables had 2-3 folks sitting & eating. Not busy at all. It wasn't awful & it wasn't great. It was mostly edible, displayed nicely & smelled good. Asked for crackers & said they didn't have any. Cashier needs some pep in her step with a smile & communication lack. Bring...
Read moreThe food is always excellent. My mother has always loved this place every since she was diagnosed with cancer. However, my takeout experience was past horrific on today. The young cashier took my order and I had questions about the total of my order n a very nice young African American woman in management came from the back and she answered my questions with tact and integrity. The young cashier looked on as if I was asking my questions in error. So, as I then waited for my food and the young white manager who was packing my food then said to me...who was TOTALLY uninvolved in the exchage started to make commentary regarding the previous exchange ( which had NOTHING TO DO WITH HER) began to say to me that I was disrespectful....I then responded that her cashier was disrespectful towards me. The manager then said to me I needed to exit the building. I asked why? She then stated, " She had called the police." WOW you called the. Police because you didn't like my tone? I was not harassing or threatening in any manner. Right after that she called my name WITH my Food. I smiled at her n said thank you! The white manager then said." You're welcomed but you can wait for the police to come for you! I simply responded to her that her feelings were fueled by racism n the Civil Rights Act was passed in 1964. I found this whole experience threatening n a totally unprofessional because I had questions about MY BILL. I truly was treated with such disdain n disrespect today. I am done with MCALLISTERS PRATTVILLE. Sadly, their was disrespect to from one management leader to another. The African American manager had handled the situation so WHY did the cashier n another white manager have to get involved. Disgusting.....Trust me I'm not done with this. The KKK of McCallisters...
Read moreI’m a huge fan of the McAlister’s brand. I went to college in Oxford, MS, and spent several years enjoying McAlister’s original location (old movie set, very unique!). I lived in Phoenix, AZ, and was happy to find a McAlister’s out there to enjoy as well. I love a good McAlisters!
However, this McAlister’s need to improve. First it took way too long to get from the door to the point of sale. With one person in line, 1 waited 10 min before approaching a cashier. Then, I got skipped in line by one of the cashiers. One of them even said something, and either the available cashier ignored or didn’t hear. From there, I was able to order my club sandwich, and was told after the transaction was complete that there was a bus ahead of me and it would take upwards of 15 mins to make my sandwich. I pressed for an explanation, and only got a shoulder shrug. Other customers appeared to be waiting a really long time to place orders and get refills. There was also a pile of to go orders idly stacked in the window. At one point during my wait, I was offered a cookie. I’m not mad, so I declined. ended up waiting 20 mins for my sandwich. The bread tasted like there was maybe spilled liquid that got absorbed into it. I still ate it. The tea was good.
Overall, for an $11 sandwich and a national brand that is known for quality, this experience missed the mark. I recommend either Longhorn around the corner, or either the Moes or 5 Guys in the same...
