So I very much wanted to love this place as I love to support local businesses, However…I paid $6 for an eclair pastry…I get it…it’s “baked fresh”…but then when checking out I paid with a credit card and their system basically makes you leave a tip for the guy behind the counter to drop the eclair in a bag and place it on a counter. When my husband called and talked to the “manager”…(that’s who he claimed to be when he answered the phone) tried to say they tell people to hit the “x” button twice to keep from having to pay for a tip, and that it was a “miscommunication” and that I needed to hit the red “x” button twice to avoid being forced to pay a tip. Albeit, there was no sign and when I processed out both attendants left the counter… My issue is, in this world of over exhaustive tip whoring…it frustrates me that a “mom and pop” establishment resorts to this sort of credit card system to exaggerate an even higher price for a SIMPLE eclair… I think they can do better….i get it…inflation…a $6 eclair!!! but really? Forcing a tip for putting it in a bag? Man, that’s just...
Read moreMy family and I were attracted to this bakery from the smell alone. It felt like it was carrying us in like a cartoon! We were so excited to walk inside and see the assortment of baked goods until it seemed our excitement was a buzz kill for the staff. We greeted the lady behind the counter working that afternoon and didn't get any kind of response (not even a smile). We ordered four chocolate chip cookies and a snickerdoodle but it seemed that we had interrupted something. We probably would have ordered and tried more if it felt more inviting, but we quickly left and didn't get any type of appreciation of business.
It was also to my surprise, that when I tried the cookies later I didn't enjoy them. They were not sweet or even semi-sweet. Tasted like an older cookie that was on its way to being stale. It is very rare for me to not finish a cookie, and I personally didn't even eat half of either choc-chip or snickerdoodle. I'm unfortunately leaving a low review and I hop that this bakery can take the feedback and improve. I would love to revisit and be able to update...
Read moreMy husband and I stopped by and mistakenly used the wrong door. We awkwardly walked in around a table that was partially blocking the door for no apparent reason. A staff member was sitting at the table and seemed very unpleasant and annoyed with us being there. Especially since we came in the wrong door. She didn't smile and seemed unhappy to help us. It's a shame because I love supporting local but how I am treated is just as important as the taste . I give them 4 stars because the cookie and canoli was delicious. Business didn't seem to be hopping so why does it matter how people get inside? Why not be inviting and it will help so much because you have so many people walking by. Prop open your main door, smile when people come in and act like you appreciate your customers and boost those 5...
