Tonight was my first time at Fogo De Chao. My boyfriend and I were excited to try something new, fun and delicious. Unfortunately it was annoying, unfair and disgusting. We made a reservation prior expecting it to be busy. When we got there it was the complete opposite. There were two other tables occupied. We got sat next to a party of four who were loud and obnoxious. In an empty restaurant why did we have to sit on top of another group? We were also sat next to their computer station. With being sat next to the computer station I don't think we went one minute without a member of staff coming up to us asking this and that. I understand giving great customer service but this was just flat out obnoxious. We watched two other couples get sat and they got sat away from everyone with there own space and large tables to themselves. Our waiter was nice asked if we ever been before and briefly went over the menu. We had to ask multiple questions about how things worked before finally getting an answer that made sense. If we never asked we would've never known there was an appetizer bar that was included. The presentation of the appetizer bar was displayed nicely and was clean. I have not one good thing to say about the food from the bar. We each got a variety of things to try and they were all gross and flavorless. We let it slide because we were there for the fire roasted meat. We flipped our cards to green and got bombarded. We immediately got three different meats. The fast service was nice but the waiters/waitress were careless and rude about bringing us food. They were sloppy with their cuts and putting the food on our plates. We didn't know what to expect it was far from that. We flipped our cards to red and tasted the first few things. They were overcooked dry and flavorless. As we were discussing our meal a large group of "business men" came in. The waiters and waitresses heavily focused on their table. They would walk past us when we had our cards flipped to green to rush over to the larger party and never circling back to us. They eventually brought us over bone in chicken thighs that were raw and bloody. We pushed them to the side and waited and waited. The manager(well who I assume is the manager) saw that we were watching all the other tables get service and not us so she said something to the waiters and assured us that they would come to us. WRONG. They still did not. After speaking to them a second time they started trickling over to our table. The food again was overcooked, dry, under-seasoned, and overly salty. I mean very overly salty. We were crunching on chunks of salt. We watched and the "better" of the meats were brought to other tables and we just sat there getting more annoyed and frustrated. Then to top it off now the table next to us is open they sat a family with two young loud children next to us. Again this was an EMPTY restaurant. Yet they were sat directly on top of us. This is when we decided we were done. We paid and left. We left frustrated, hungry and disappointed. The manager saw all of this happen and did nothing about it. We spent $200 here and it was absolutely not worth it. Nothing was done to make this situation right which is absolutely unacceptable. This restaurant is awful. If I had known this would be our experience I would've never...
Read moreSo I’ll start off first saying I don’t really do reviews but I thought this needed one. My daughter, seven year old son and myself dined in this afternoon at 445 pm. We were seated promptly and server came over quickly. She explained it all to us and how it works and I asked about the extras which my son was interested in the tomahawk steak. It was described to us beautifully so we added it along with our full dinner experience. This alone was $105. We started to get out drinks and the server dropped the tray along with his whole soda on my son, it spilt on his phone and all over him and the table. That was ok, I replied to him it’s fine accidents happen and I helped clean it all up. We waited again for drinks for about 10 minutes and my daughter’s martini tasted like soap, so she didn’t drink it ! They started to come around with the meats at first which were very good, the buns are delish and the cold bar is pretty good as well. The sides we were served at the table the mashed were cold and crusty. Polenta fries and plantains were ok. As I read in the menu it is suppose to be a variety of meats and chicken, we only were served maybe about 4 kinds, no filet mignon, no costillas, no rib eye etc. us ordering the tomahawk as well should not have made them not bring us the other cuts of meat as I myself do not eat the tomahawk steak and would have liked the other meats that we had paid for in the full dinner. When the steak came out they could have done a little better presentation and cutting of it, he placed it on the table and I was shocked at how small it was in comparison to the ounces it was suppose to be and the amount of fat, was insane. I understand there would be some fat but more than half of the meat was not edible as it was pure fat, I did taste a bite of it and no seasoning to it at all. Needless to say I was very disappointed in this whole extra experience I purchased. As dinner went on, I would ask numerous times for water and didn’t get a response, most of the servers were beyond great and than as it got busier it all changed. We decided to try dessert and ordered a cappuccino and a coffee along with two different pieces of cake. The cakes come out, still no water refill and when I finally found server again I asked about where the coffees are. Mind you he had given me my bill already which was 345$ so he said oh I forgot I’ll get them now. Come back with new bill adding them to bill and my daughters cappuccino was straight milk just frothed, there was no espresso at all. I waved over and explained this to him. He than brought over a shot of espresso about 8 min after. New bill brought and was $354. Not even a comp on any of the coffees or her alcoholic drink she couldn’t drink. Or about soaking my son and his phone. For the few things I got to taste it was very good, but wouldn’t ever purchase a steak again from there. Just wish they would have recognized all of the mishaps and handled them. So 420$ later, yes I still tipped even though it was not the best experience. I would love to try them again with my whole family next time but just wished the would have recognized all the issues that occurred...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I went to this location to celebrate my birthday and it was the most awful dining experience I’ve had in a while. We waited so long for a server to even greet us, we contemplated leaving. It was about 20 minutes before someone greeted us or gave us water for our empty glasses on the table. We watched four other tables of two sit down after us and get at least a cup of water. During that wait for the server to greet us and give us our food cards we watched a waitstaff clean a table in front of us and drop a cup of sauce on the carpeted floor. A kind little boy picked it up for him and the staff just watched as the little boy picked it up for him. To make matters worse, the staff just left the glob of sauce sitting on the carpeted floor. So we watched as several people walked and smeared white sauce all over the floor. So, nice first impression I guess. We were starving waiting for the server to take our orders so we headed to the buffet of sides and was greeted with a disappointing array of chopped vegetables and salami slices. So waiting for those food cards and a greeting was even more irritating after grabbing some food from the pathetic display. When we finally got our food cards, we then had to endure eating the under seasoned and very greasy slices of meat being served. Which made us gag due to all the grease. Not only are the meat slices just not good or high quality tasting at all but they obviously serve random stuff like cheese with honey to make you wait longer for the meat being served. In turn, making you full faster since you’re just sitting there with the greasy bread rolls they give you and the digested slice of meat in your stomach. Also, one of the meat servers spoke to us very rudely in Spanish. As pointed out by my boyfriend who is fluent in Spanish. Very confusing, as we don’t have to exchange that many words when cutting someone a piece of meat so very clueless about the reason for the rudeness. Definitely was not worth the price at all. I’ve had better service and food at chilis. If you’re gonna charge as much as you do and advertise yourself as a more upscale chain restaurant at least do better than chilis. My boyfriend has tried a churrasco experience in Bolivia and was appalled at how disgusting the cuts were and low quality the service was at Fogo De Chao. So, this restaurant is an American...
