Looked up recommendations online. My family was looking for seafood. The place is on the main drag and an easy walk from the big parking areas. Inside is very dated and the air conditioning was on full blast. It was in the 90s outside, but we were all freezing during our dinner. We ordered sodas, orange juice and a chocolate milk which came in small plastic cups. A fried calamari appetizer. The calamari was good, but the portion size was tiny for the price. We later discovered they charged $4.00 per drink and $2 up charge for milk without any warning. That's excessive. For dinner, we ordered a lobster roll, which one of my children really enjoyed. I ordered the "Cubano" special which was good. My wife ordered the baked shrimp which she enjoyed, but upset her stomach later. All came with fries, which were okay. My son ordered the lazy man lobster. The lobster was tough and the breading was burnt. The bill for 5 people was $300. This is not a fine dining restaurant and no alcohol was purchased. Service was attentive. We would not go back again. We ate at Arnold's on the cape the next day. Our meals were half the price and much...

Seafood foodie snob here & long-time resident on the Cape. OK, you think you’ve visited all the great restaurants in this area over the years, as we have, but last night, our local friends re-introduced us to the Mayflower. Oh my! Do not pass this restaurant by! This is an oldie but goodie right in the heart of P’town. You come here for the huge variety of food at fair prices, the warmth of the staff and owner Mike, and the ambience of bygone years. Those lucky enough to snag a window seat will surely be entertained by all the foot traffic on Commercial Street.

Now to the seafood on our table: we had the spaghetti with clams; the frutti di mare, a seafood dish in a delicious tomato-based sauce with a bit of a bite; a (lightly) fried sea scallops with scallops fresh off the boat; and fresh haddock with shrimp & scallops stuffing!! I got to taste every dish and am ready to return to have the other dishes I didn’t choose. Yes, the food was that delicious and fresh-tasting! We had a wonderful time, assisted by our fun and helpful waitstaff, Larasa. Thank you to all the hardworking staff there whose friendliness is reflected by...

Terrible place! We came in, got a table, server came and first she told us is that she is leaving in 45 mins and quote “order food because i am leaving in 45 minutes”. After few minutes another server came to take our order because the lady that served us didn’t speak any decent English. After we placed our order after 15 mins 3rd server came to inform us that one of 2 items that are ordered didn’t go thru the sistem (which is weird because one of those was burger and another was seafood pasta) and that it’s gonna take 8 more mins to be done. She brought burger which was cold, fries was cold as well, one slice of cheese which wasn’t melted (just thrown on top) and without any sauce. Pasta was brought around 10 mins after. Pasta was over-cooked and seafood was all gummy and tasteless. So bad and unprofessional service, poor food quality, it look like there wasn’t a 1% of effort put into preparing the food or providing the service. After everything we were fully charged of course and without any appoligize. Terrible!...

The Mayflower Cafe is an excellent place to eat after a day in Cape Cod or in Provincetown. Normally when I order seafood at other restaurants I always feel like the serving size does not justify the high price. Here, however, the food is very filling and satisfying. My table started with generous bowls of clam chowder which was creamy and delicious. I ordered the Baked Seafood Casserole which is a baked dish of scallops, scrod, a large shrimp, and Ritz cracker stuffing. The scallops were cooked marvelously and the crispy stuffing paired well with the seafood. The service was also great and our waiter consistently came over to our table to check on us throughout our meal. He was also very knowledgeable about the menu when we asked for clarifications and recommendations on what to order.

My husband and I got married in Provincetown this past summer and Michael from the Mayflower was SO wonderful. We contacted him and the restaurant in advance since there would be fourteen of us and when we arrived he had decorated tables for us with balloons and flowers, made homemade desserts (he also offered to bake us a cake!), and bought and gifted us champagne flutes. It was so kind and truly made our day. The food was delicious and Lisa our waitress was also wonderful. The location was perfect as it was right next to the docks and the sailboat we were getting married on. Both of our families are still talking about how great everything was. We are already planning on coming back for our anniversary next year. Thanks, Michael & Lisa!! -The Pfeiffers
