Very cute bakery. We stumbled by it and we were pleasantly surprised by the variety and the friendly gentleman by the counter. I got macarons, lemon cupcake and a lemon square cookie. My friend got the Pike peak brownie, the love at first bite chocolate cupcake and the carrot cake. Everything I've had so far is delicious!! Even the lavender macaron was really really good. The lemon cookie wasn't too sweet or very lemony but had the right amount of tart. I would definitely get more of the macarons and that cookie. The lemon cupcake was not as loved as the other two. The center of the cupcake had a big splash of lemony goodness but it tasted artificial. The whipped cream was a little too much for me. I think I would eat this cupcake without the cream topping. The cupcake itself could also do with more lemon than it had. My friend loved her brownie and carrot cake but did not like the chocolate brownie. I will definitely be back for more macarons and that lemon cookie!

Hopscotch Bakery – What Happened? I’m not sure what’s going on with Hopscotch Bakery in Pueblo, but talk about a letdown. We had friends visiting from out of town and after a fantastic breakfast at B Street Café, we stopped in for what we hoped would be some standout local sweets. Unfortunately, it was anything but. The chile sugar cookies—once unique and delicious—were barely recognizable (see pictures). And the kitchen sink cookie, which used to be my absolute favorite, was burnt, dry, and tasted like it had been overbaked hours ago. It crumbled apart and not in a good way. Even worse, the cookies weren’t cheap, and for the price, I expected the quality they used to be known for. Sadly, that’s not what we got. It’s disappointing to see a local favorite lose its touch. Here’s hoping they turn things around.

Paid close to $40 (with tax) for a Raspberry cheesecake. This is what my guests said: “This is a joke.”; “It’s so thin.”; “Sara Lee would have been better.”; “Wow, that’s a letdown.”; “Total rip off.”; “They used a spray gun to apply the thinnest possible layer of raspberry.”; “It’s not fresh.”; “All I taste is graham cracker…where’s the cheesecake?”; “There’s no taste.” “It doesn’t shout fresh.” “Nothing but dessert from Schusters bakery from now on.” Gotta do better, Hopscotch…maybe rethink that “cheesecake.” Your other offerings may be much better. They look great in the store.

This used to be my favorite bakery but with new ownership it just isn’t what it used to be. I’ve given it ample time to adjust but the changes made are not great. Don’t try to fix what isn’t broken. People frequent this place for the things they love: Orange beasts, lavender shortbread, sandwiches, ginger cookies, customer service. Last sandwich I ordered wasn’t what I got. Called & received a “well we’ll try to fix it next time”. No apology nothing. Orange beasts are now just a croissant in a muffin pan with some powdered sugar. No orange glaze, no orange zest, no orange anything. When I called the bakery to let them know that the orange beasts had no orange the conversation went like this “ok sure I’ll let my baker know. Click-hangup-.” Again, no apology, no let me make it right for you. Nothing. The ginger cookies used to be the best on the planet. I would buy them by the dozens. The ginger was potent and would light you up with the zingy burn. Now they have minimal ginger and taste like molasses cookies. Barely a hint of ginger. Soooo disappointing. I’m so sad the new owner has minimal customer service and has changed the staples of this once adored bakery. I won’t be recommending it to my customers...

A wonderful store if you're completely healthy. I couldn't find anything that would be friendly to my diabetes or my chronic kidney disease, which require whole grains and no sugar. But if you're healthy this is a great place to stock up.

My goodness, I placed this review 6 years ago! And a little over 2 hours ago I got a reply. Maybe that's why this bakery is under new management! And you deliver? Fresh baked bread? I think that was the issue I wanted to buy a loaf of bread and it was nothing there except cookies and pastries. This comment is being left on the 6th of January otherwise known as capital invasion Day as well as presidential vote certification day 2024. The reply that I just got was from a comment I made in 2018. My wife was still alive. I was still living in a home on Dittmer that we own for 27 years. And I was probably a little more health conscious. Now I'm 81 years old and I'll eat anything that tastes good. The only health that even concerns me at all is whether or not the oil needs to be changed in my new car or whether I have a...

My daughter went to Hopscotch this morning for one rice crispy treat. With a severe peanut allergy, she asked if they were peanut free and was told “yes”. Within 20 minutes of consuming, she was vomiting with hives, 20 minutes after that she was short of breath with a heart rate of 150 bpm. After applying epinephrine, the paramedics came to our house. We transported her to the Parkview ER, where she is now for at least three hours on her birthday.

At the ER, I called Hopscotch to inform the “manager” of the situation. She stated their rice crispy treats have PEANUT BUTTER, but she “didn’t serve her”, somehow making it ok. This person had zero empathy and a denial of the situation.

Food Allergies are serious, a restaurant owner in Great Britain was sentenced to a prison sentence for using peanut oil without telling patrons, after a couple of young female patrons died.

My daughter will be fine, but no one with or without allergies should go to this...
