Tried this place for the first time tonight. We were originally gonna go to Blue Ocean nearby, but they were unexpectedly closed and we decided to go here. They seemed pretty busy for 7:30 on a Thursday, so I assume they got the entire Blue Ocean crowd as well. Our drinks were out and orders were taken in a timely manner, although our waiter wasn’t the friendliest. I can work with that, tho. He got the job done. The wait wasn’t too bad for how busy they were, but we did wait a little while. We got two rolls each, plus we ordered nigiri sushi as well. Our rolls came out and were beautifully put together. I got the King Roll, which was incredible. I will definitely order it a million more times, omg. Seriously, it was that good. I also got the Manning Roll, which was a little less exciting flavor-wise and aesthetically, but still absolutely delicious and I would definitely order again. My friend got the Las Vegas Roll, which I didn’t try, but she thoroughly enjoyed, and the Super Crunch Roll, which I would definitely order for myself in the future. Very good flavor combo on that roll!! Sadly we never got our nigiri sushi. We waited a while and somehow our waiter didn’t realize we never got the nigiri, but also somehow our checks got mixed up with a nearby table and they were going to have us pay their ticket, which was close to the same as our bill with the nigiri sushi that we never received included. After realizing this, our server gave us tickets with only the items we actually received, and then another employee came over and comped our meals for the hassle, which was totally unexpected and unnecessary, but greatly appreciated. I will definitely be back here. I am very impressed that they did not hesitate to make that situation right, even tho neither of us would have complained because the food was so dang good. I have a lot of respect and feel good supporting businesses that have their customers as their priority, and this is definitely one of those places. Definitely worth a try, and if you are a fan of lobster and scallops, try the King Roll, you...
Read moreNo longer our favorite sushi restaurant due to problems with the hostess. We have been regulars of Tsunami/Mr. Sushi for years. After Mr. Sushi took ownership we noticed that the prices kept rising and the rolls kept getting smaller. We kept coming in because the sushi is good and we like the beer and saki special. Then one night we asked our waiter for another beer and saki special after our meal but the hostess decides that she wants to wait our table and brings us our beer and a small saki. Since we are regulars we have ordered this special many times and we know that it comes with a large saki. When we asked her about it she insisted that we were wrong and that it’s always been a small saki even though our actual waiter that night had brought us a large saki for our first round. I think she finally realized that we knew she was lying so she eventually upgraded the saki to a large. A few weeks later we decide to come back for another meal since that’s the only problem we’ve ever had here. The same hostess tells us upon entering that they can’t seat us because the main dining room is full. We ask to be seated outside, which we have done here many times previously, and she refused. We ask about the overflow dining room, which we have also done previously. She starts to walk us over to the overflow dining room when she stops halfway turns around and rudely asks us if we can just wait for a table to open up. We said nope and walked out to have our sushi and saki elsewhere. She also treats the waitstaff horribly which contributes to their high turnover, we rarely ever had the same waiter twice ever since Mr Sushi took over. Maybe once this lady is gone we’ll try coming back but until then this...
Read moreFirst time here, I usually go to another sushi restaurant in pueblo thought i would try tsunami because of the high ratings and something different. We went in at lunch it was not busy, But still a few tables were occupied. At first the hostess was welcoming, we sat down and received our drinks promptly. Then we waited for 30 min for our server to take our order. Finally we ordered I watched my cold sushi rolls sit on a plate for 12 minutes before the cooked roll made it on the plate with the cold rolls. We ordered 4 rolls that took another 30 minutes to get to our table. The sushi was good I enjoyed it. You can taste that they have fresh fish. Presentation could use a little work. Next, change your decor! Its awful I'm not sure if its Christmas in July or valentines day, or if we are in a jungle/zen garden. The fake Roses need to go. The staff, I saw that there is a uniform code, all black. A few were dressed appropriately in clean black shirts with nice black trousers. Others were wearing workout type clothes(too tight) , a chef was wearing black sweatpants that hung past his butt. I saw mostly the servers on their phones way too much. No one seemed focus on the customers. A lady at the bar almost walked out because she waited too long for her to go order. We almost walked out because the lack of customer service. I want to come back and I will. Hopefully tsunami can fix a few things and maybe train the staff better. This is all constructive criticism, I have worked in the restaurant industry in Pueblo for 8 yrs. Doing all sorts of jobs. I only want to see pueblo restaurants doing all they can, to improve for the community and especially the people who come from outside of pueblo. Thank you for your...
