Been coming to Put In Bay for 15 years and have had terrible experiences last year and most recently this trip at the Roundhouse. I was there with a non drinking 27 yr retired Marine Major (62 yrs old).
This is an annual reunion trip, he went to order drinks for the rest of us and the bartender was EXTREMELY RUDE (heavy set guy with a beard). Barely served him, nasty attitude slammed $39 check down on the bar and then abruptly walked away so he didn’t get a tip. Then as Marine was walking away bartender made a big scene, threw up his hands and yelled across the bar “thanks a lot for the tip”! Now, I am all for tipping well for good service as we always do, but this guy did not earn a tip. It is not an “entitlement”. So when he made a scene about it in a crowded bar, he got flipped the bird. Now, I don’t agree with this either, but what followed was a BIG scene of two 20 something door men aggressively physically pushing a distinguished 62 yr old marine veteran with a long history of kindness and service out the door in front of hundreds of people.
As a close friend to this marine I wanted to understand what was going on and why this was happening and was met with resistance when I asked to talk to a manager or anyone in charge as they said “there is no manager and no one is in charge tonight “.
I asked for the guys name who escorted the marine out (door guy with the short dark hair) and he refused to tell me then brought the other light haired guy with the frizzy hair ponytail and beard over and they threatened to kick me out for asking questions.
Super disappointed in the Round House and their staff and would not recommend to anyone because the staff was so rude, dismissive and aggressive to an elderly patron which reeks of low character, service...
Read moreThe Round House has been serving alcohol out of it for a century and a half, and for good reason, we had went twice a day, for the two days we were there to catch the live music and get drinks.
If you're a fan of live music, this is definitely the place to be. It's small and compact and can get extremely full, quickly, but the round bar and stage in the center draws the crowd together to make for a great and lively atmosphere.
Staff and security is pleasant, even if often in a hurry, due to the large crowds. Drinks aren't bad price wise, quick service, though fighting through the crowd to the bar when an artist is on stage can be challenging...
Crowd ranges from young to older, though like most places on the strip as the night sets in it gears towards a younger generation.
We had seen Mad Dogg, and he was hilarious!
Definitely recommend for drinks, and music, and if hungry you can run next door to the chicken patio and snag a great meal for a heck of a price.
The Roundhouse for me is Top 2 on the island for drinks, music, and...
Read moreTo clarify, I am over the age of 21, I have been for a while, and I got my ID checked at the door by one bouncer and was given the okay to go inside, as I attempted to enter I was grabbed and pulled back by the other bouncer who asked for my ID, I gave him my ID and he checks it very, very thoroughly, after bending it and flashing his light at it for 30 seconds he gives it back and lets me go in, not even 3 minutes later I'm approached in the bar by the bouncer and told that I need to come back outside and show them my ID again. I ended up leaving after this because I was feeling harassed, I get they're doing their job and want to be safe, but how many times do you need to take my ID and bother me before you decide I'm allowed to be there? I respect the need for security, but there’s a difference between doing your job and making someone feel targeted. It completely killed the vibe and made me uncomfortable enough to leave. I won’t ever be...
