5 Stars for engagement. 5 Stars for ingredients. 2 stars for location. Positive experience. Like everyone else I see Jersey Mike's commercials on TV. I have no idea how they can afford to do that, but that's for another time. This morning I was running errands across the street at the Walmart Super Center. I thought I'd reward myself with a visit to Jersey Mikes. I walked in just after 10:00 AM, wondering to myself whether they were even open this early. The door opened, I walked in, looked around and about thirty seconds later, a beautiful young woman walked out from the back of the store and greeted me. That was a very positive experience. I looked up at the menu. Couldn't figure out what to order. I asked her to make me your best sandwich. She chose #13. I had no idea what that was. Who cares. I asked her if I could order half a sandwich since my appetite wasn't that great. She suggested a 'Mini'. I said "Great". it was then that I had one of those amazing experiences. i looked down on the counter, just to the left of where I was standing and saw the most amazing looking pile of bacon I had ever seen. I mean the bacon looked so good, I was borderline mesmerized. I asked her if she brought that in from an outside supplier, pre-cooked. She replied, "No, I cook it up every morning." "Are you kidding me", I thought to myself. it was then and there I realized that Jersey Mikes wasn't screwing around, cutting corners, or taking shortcuts. If the bacon would have been for sale, I would have purchased it. It was that great looking. I arrived home, opened the sandwich bag and enjoyed #13, whatever that was. The sandwich was catering quality, probably a little above catering quality, actually. The sandwich was in the bag for over an hour before I opened it and ate it. Extremely satisfied. Now most of you won't get this next reference, but I'll share it anyway. Drive down to Rancho Cordova, or your nearby Jersey Mikes location. Tell no one in your family. Walk in and look for the bacon. If you're like me, you will stare at the bacon, stacked really high for a minute or two. You won't be able to take your eyes off the bacon. Soon you'll see Jersey Mikes as your only choice for catering quality sandwiches. The experience was that moving for me. It helped a lot that the counter help was English speaking, engaging and articulate. I asked her to get the manager. Sure enough, thirty seconds later, the manager came out and i told her how much I loved her bacon. She corrected me, " Applewood bacon", she replied. I stand corrected...
Read moreThis is not a review that I wanted to leave. I went into this place last night. I've been coming here for years. I love the sandwiches that they make. Normally get a number 13 and add ham to it. Last night we came in ordered our sandwiches had a young kid (Allen) working behind the counter making our sandwiches. Before he started making our sandwiches I noticed that his co worker who has made our sandwiches many times before had to tell him to change his gloves as he just checked out someone and had touched items. No issues there because it was before he touched our food. He started slicing the meat when the phone rang the both were busy making sandwiches when Allen stopped making our sandwiches to answer the phone normally not a problem but he wedge the phone between his shoulder and head to talk as he went back to making our sandwiches as he was on the phone. Now I'm watching him do this he touches his hair and shirt and the phone then proceeds to start cutting more meat without changing his gloves. His coworker Adam is think his name was quietly tells him to stop and wash his hands and change his gloves as he just touched his hair shirt and the phone. Allen ignored him as we watch him pull new meats out and starts cutting them when Adam told him again to change his gloves. One would think you would understand that he was trying to save the store a potential nightmare report to the health department for various health code violations by Allen. But all Allen did was escalate the situation by arguing with Adam about why he had to change his gloves. Did this kid not get the basic food safety training that goes with any fast food job? When I spoke up about his not changing his gloves and pointed out the HACCP violations he was committing and how he had cross contaminated the other meats he touched and put back. I was told to mind my own business I was like your making our sandwiches it is my business. At that point we walked out of the place. Went to and sandwich shop. I don't think I can go here again if he is working would be to concerned about food poisoning or something from his mishandling of the food. I hope they fix this concern as this is was our go to sandwich shop. It would have been a 1 star review but Adam saved a star for them I wish I could give him a 5star rating separately from Allen's 0 star rating I wish I could give. Hope the owner reviews the cameras...
Read moreI can’t rate this restaurant higher than 5 stars but if I could they would have 10 stars and beyond! The new owner, Gino, is soooooo nice! My daughters and I visited recently and not only is the food a step above in taste, flavor, size but the customer service is so amazing! I was in shock at how nice these guys are. Joel took my sandwich orders and he asked details so my sandwiches were perfect. Awesome customer service. There were four men behind the counter and they all took an interest in everyone that was in the restaurant. Adam, Sergei and Jacob all gave superb service and the sandwiches we’ve had the past few times we’ve been in are amazing. I can’t even compare the sandwiches to subway or the sandwich shop across the street, Jersey mikes is where to go. I am so happy we’ve been in lately. Thank you Gino for the great food and amazing service. Our family and my friends will definitely be in every week. Worth the price-and we love the coupons when we get them. We will never pass up using a coupon at jersey mikes! Delicious and made with love!!! Thank you all!...
