HORRIBLE!!! I'm a sucker for the $5 bonafide box so on 1/21/18 at 1:02 pm I decided to stop by the local Popeyes by my house. When I arrived I noticed the drive thru line was longer than normal, so I decided to go inside. Immediately I began to question if I walked into a business establishment, or a back alley bar. The language that was being used was entirely unprofessional. Customers being called, "Bruh" and "Boss." And playful banter that should not take place at work. Although this language isn't the worse thing to hear, it's but not the best at a place of business.
As I walked to the line to order, I noticed the cook was in the back "cleaning." He was actually pushing food debris off the edge of the fryer into the fryer oil. His pants were sagging midway to his thighs. I could clearly see he was wearing blue boxers (I took pictures). I noticed the manager in the green button up shirt was also sagging his pants (he had dreads with the tips dyed and I could not see his name tag).
I made it to the front and ordered my meal/drink at 1:17pm. I went to the Coca-Cola Freestyle machine that has approx. 25 different sodas and multiple flavoring syrups and EVERY SINGLE DRINK that was not diet was empty. I thought wow Coke must be having a shortage on soda, or the company has terrible venders that don't refill the machines (Sorry Coke it was not your doing). I returned to the cashier an requested a refund for the drink. The cashier responded, "I got you bruh." But gave me no refund. He continued to help the customers in line, so I waited patiently for my food.
While waiting I noticed the cook from earlier had packed his own family sized meal (while customers waited an extremely long time to get their food, I took a picture). He exited the store without paying for his meal even though a sign told employees to not pack their own meals and pay for their food (I took a picture of the sign). Moments later the cook returned to get sauces and more food, his pants were still sagging (I took more pics).
At approx. 1:26pm another customer waiting in line asked me how long we had been waiting. He showed us his receipt that had an order time of 1:00pm. His order number was #90 and they were calling #98. When he approached the cashier, the cashier stated, "I'll make it for you now Bro."
At approx. 1:33pm, my number was called an I went to claim my meal, I had to request for sauce from the worker in a red hoodie who showed little interest in work. Even less interest in my request for BBQ and Ranch. I said thank you to him and he responded to me with a sarcastic Thumbs Up.
I requested the refund not given to me earlier and the manager was called. I could hear him ask the cashier in an annoyed manner, "What they want" and "Why?" The manager approached the front with an attitude (pants still sagging). I asked for a refund for my drink and told him it was because there was no soda in the machine. I asked him is it the vendors job to refill the machine, if so they could request a new vendor. The manager stated he was in charge of refilling drink syrup but he hadn't done it even though he had drink syrup boxes available in back.
I've been to a number of Popeye's (from Louisiana to California) and this by far is the most unprofessional and lazy excuse for a location I have ever seen. This was the worse experience I've ever had with the company. It was especially horrible because I wasn't mad. I was not thinking through emotions, this was just clearly a poorly managed facility and a terrible experience. This location DESPERATELY needs new management. Never in my entire life combined have I had worse service as I did tonight at your 2817 Zinfandel Drive, Rancho Cordova, CA location. My husband and I ordered online around 8:00pm. Around 8:15 we arrived and said we are here to pick up an online order. The girl doesn't respond, and turns around and seemingly starts working on our order. No. She hands 5 other orders out, comes back to the counter and looks at us, "Oh yeah." Goes back starts filling a box, and by now the mild chicken is gone, because she's served it. Its now 8:30 & she says to us, "it's going to be 15 minutes for fresh chicken." By this time we are upset, but reluctantly just keep waiting. 8:45 still no food, girl says "can I give you an extra chicken sandwich for waiting?" "Of course. Thank you." New chicken comes up & this girl picks up the box that she started 30 minutes earlier to add chicken to it, and I said, "since we waited for fresh chicken, I do not want to be served the chicken that's been sitting out for 30 minutes." She gets us the fresh chicken and then puts 2 boxes of old fries-- that also had been sitting out for over 30 minutes in our bag. I said again, "we have also watched those fries sit out on the counter." Rather than scooping in the container holding fairly new fries, she tells them to drop new ones. We have been there 45 min at this point and would have just left long before this point if we didnt prepay online. I said, "just give me the old fries so we can leave at this point." So she puts the old fries in the bag, and off we go, 45 minutes later, with old fries. All the while the line outside is wrapping around. The line inside is just doordashers waiting on orders. And the ticket machine every few seconds spits out another doordash order that just all sat in a chain of orders that they were not even looking at. The doordash orders they did serve were also orders made up of food that had just been sitting out on the counter. Horrible customer service. Cold food. 45 minute wait on a pre-ordered dinner. An absolute horrible experience all around. This location has NO business doing doordash or online orders for that matter if they can't handle it-- which they clearly cannot.
Went to this store tonight for an online order pickup at 8:40pm & "checked in" with someone right away. Well that guy walked away and didn't do another thing. 12 minutes later, after taking other peoples' orders, a different guy at the counter asked if we were picking up and we said yes, and we told him the order and he walked away and after a few more minutes came back and said, "What was the order? I don't think we have it in our system. I pointed at the screen and said it's "that one right there," and read off what the items were. He goes, "oh ok" and goes to start bagging items. He brought me a bag and 2 drinks, and said, "would you like a drink carrier?" Then proceeds to put an old drink from the counter- that was not one he just brought me- in the drink carrier too... Ultimately, I looked in the bag and it was missing a large fry, in addition to the now 20 minutes of other issues we've been having at their restaurant. Moral of the story: DO NOT come to...
Read moreI only give it two stars because there’s this one single black woman who’s sweet, but most everyone else here I’ve had terrible experience with. Every time I come here is an ordeal. Last time I came, I was standing at the counter for 4-5 minutes trying to get help. There were a lot of employees working right behind the counter, and I understand being busy but they didn’t even acknowledge me. One of the workers came and got on the register I was standing at, but didn’t even make eye contact with me. He was just standing there looking around at first…. Then began pressing buttons on it and doing stuff, and I waved my hand at him trying to get his attention but he just ignored me. I began saying “hey, hello” waving my hands literally a foot in front of him. He continued to I assume pretend I wasn’t there. This went on for about 45 seconds, and finally I said “are you working the register?” He looks up and just says “no.” Meanwhile, an employee is in an argument with a customer about how he put his hot food in a cold serve container, which caused wax to melt into his food. He denied there was a problem, but the customer was persistent and he finally was able to get another one (but that one was in the wrong container again so they had to redo it again.) I’ve had employees be rude to me on many occasions, I’ve ordered a sandwich and fries and had them literally forget the sandwich even though it’s the main item lol. This place just seems really poorly managed, some of the employees are nice but they always seem way too busy even if there aren’t many customers around. Even the nice employees seem absolutely miserable, it's clear most of them hate their job and it makes me uncomfortable every time I go in. I feel guilty for even being there like it's my fault for wanting food, that's just how some of them make you feel. Idk what's going on there but the wait time is always huge, there's always some item they don't have. Chicken, fries, etc... I’ve seen people wait over an hour for food here. This isn't a rare occurance, it's what I expect going in. I avoid going there now and just order delivery because I don't really feel comfortable going in there anymore. I don’t know what’s going on there, but it’s probably the worst fast food service in the area (and I go to a lot of restaurants.)
