Slo Roast American BBQ was a recent find for us when we were craving some good ol' American BBQ for dinner. We stumbled upon it through GrubHub, and it seems to be a relatively new establishment, given the limited number of reviews on the platform. Interestingly, we couldn't locate them on Yelp or Google Maps, but according to the address, they're nestled in Redmond Town Center, sharing space with BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse. The location couldn't be better, especially since the town center tends to be bustling every time we visit. Luckily, there's ample free parking right in front of the restaurant, which is always a plus. One thing that immediately caught our attention was the reasonable pricing, especially considering the portion sizes. American BBQ joints in Washington State can often be hit or miss – either overpriced or lacking in flavor. Fortunately, Slo Roast didn't disappoint on either front. The portions were generous, leaving us pleasantly full, and the flavors were on point. That being said, there were a couple of caveats. The meat turned out to be a tad tougher than expected, requiring a bit of extra chewing with each bite. While the sides were decent, they didn't particularly stand out compared to other BBQ spots we've tried. Overall, Slo Roast American BBQ left a positive impression, and we'd definitely consider giving them another shot next time we're in the mood for some good old American BBQ.

This restaurant made the worst mistake that could be done. It serves a extremely undercooked chicken for children. Let me explain my negative review, share a little bit more details. The atmosphere is fine, the service is welcoming, I don't have any complaints about the work our waiter did. It could be 5 stars, but food... There is definitely a big problem. The kitchen is the heart of any restaurant. Different people have different preferences, but food should be safe, it should be prepared properly. It is the must for any place that serves food. My hungry husband ordered New Orleans jumbalaya, and he couldn't eat it. The rice was undercooked. OK, it's not a nightmare, instead of that we shared my pizza (solid 5 stars). The cocktail was good, so the restaurant still had a good chance to be on an average level... Unfortunately we ordered a kid's chicken tenders for my little daughter. Luckily I decided to cut the chicken into pieces, and there were completely raw meat inside. Raw chicken for a kid dish - is a double safety hazard. The waiter apologized, he didn't include the amount of this item price in our bill (it's the minimum for hospitality business). However I strongly believe it's a job for the management to go to the guest and express their apologies for the kitchen work, not the server.

Update: Management has made it right. Spoke with them as well as corporate (I’m assuming) and they handled it very well and made sure all was right. Appreciate you guys! Updated my stars due to great customer service. Went there the other night and not only did I get charged $30 more than what I should’ve, I’m highly allergic to onions and my first burger had onions, no problem, sent it back, then my waiter let me know that he was making sure the second wouldn’t have onions and the chef was being extra cautious. Since they were getting ready to close, I ordered my food to go and around 930 I got my burger and thought it would be okay since it was sent back the first time and I was assured multiple times there would be no onion. I was shocked when I got home and opened my burger only for there to be more onions on the burger than before. It’d be different if I wasn’t charged incorrectly or if it was a preference but it’s not. I’m ALLERGIC and was unable to eat anything. So I was charged over $80 for a burger I couldn’t eat and a pizza. Reached out to management and haven’t heard anything from anyone so that’s super awesome. Don’t recommend this location.

One of the worst experiences I've had at a restaurant ever and it was all thanks to the waiter.

Let's go through it.

The server we had did not want to listen or be there. One of the people with me was allergic to a lot of stuff, she liked to come to BJs because it has solid gluten free pizza, a rarity.Prior she got a salad and said no dressing on top, just on the side, no croutons or "ill have to go to the hospital", and no tomatoes. Wild order but thats what she wanted.

He came back with my soup as I ordered the unlimited soup and salad to start, and her salad. Her salad had to be sent back because it had everything on it. Water arrived, as well as my drink and my second guest's drink.

Later, the second guest's drink arrived but it was so awful she wanted a different one and he took it away, I needed another soup, and the replacement salad hadn't come.

5 minutes later he comes back asking what we need along with a new drink... how about her salad and my other soup, and more water. We were starting to get a little annoyed but it might be an honest mistake. He remembers the salad after we remind him and he comes back with another wrong salad and the second guest's main food.Salad has to be sent back a second time, my second guest is eating away and i order spicy wings.

My second soup had not come, and one of the people I brought reminded me that it came with an ice cream cookie thing.

I get my wings 10 minutes later, I get a new water and the new salad comes back... still messed up but at least it wont poison the first guest plus her pizza order came.

My second guest gets fed up, talks to the manager, the manager comes to us to see what's up and the waiter seems to get talked to. Im not super familiar with this part as i was wing-locked but this was 60 minutes deep.

Dude comes back and says the meal is comped besides our drinks, taking no fault, and asks what we need and I say the soup I ordered 30 minutes ago and the ice cream thing, and my disheartened first guest asks for a box because she's just upset.Dude says "aren't we a little needy now, haha just kidding". And walks away to get boxes.

Comes back and says how busy it was and how sorry he was but the entire night my first guest could see the dude talking to another dude in a mostly empty normal Tuesday night restaurant.

We leave and have a bill for a few drinks. One of those drinks is one he just took, we assumed with him taking it it was no longer on the bill and the second guest "would have drank it if i knew i was payin for it" . She complains. Its taken off, supposed to be 3 drinks for 38 dollars (insane but hey, not mad at not paying full price for a crap night).

We go home.

A few days later here i am going over my expenses and it he didn't actually take it off? Now i'm writing this when i otherwise would not have. $58 dollars. No i didn't tip him.Told us one price, got another.

Never in my entire life did I have to deal with a dude like this. Not high end, not at McDonald, not even at a...

Came with my gf and sat in the bar area around 9:15. Was greeted promptly by server #1 who asked to take a drink order. We told him we'd need a minute to look at the menu. We waited about 10 minutes until a new server came to us and told us he is taking over for the other server. Cool, 10 minutes no big issue. We just came for a few happy hour apps so we were patient. I ordered a vanilla cream soda. Server told me he may not have it, if they didn't is there something else I wanted. I told him I'd take a root beer if they didn't have the cream soda. Turns out both were "not available". No big deal I stuck with water. Later in the meal i see the bartender give a bar guest a root beer and say "heres your root beer". The server had told me they were out yet the bartender served their guests root beer? We waited about 25 minutes for our food (2 happy hour apps) which seemed a little long since the restaurant was empty, but again we are very patient people. Our sliders did not arrive with fries like we had ordered (the server upsold us on fries). Server never checked on us so we didn't have an opportunity to tell him we were missing fries. After we were through the meal my gf waved the server down to hand him my card to cash us out since hed not check on us eventhough there was only 2 other small tables in the bar area. I mentioned to the server that we never recieved our fries so please make sure that they're not on the bill (don't know if they were out of fries or never rang in, never got an explanation). The server said ok and took my card. He came back and quickly flashed me two itemized receipts showing two different totals signifying he had the fries taken off. He left me with no itemized reciept and just credit card copies to sign. I quickly did the math of what we ordered and realize the price was not right. I took my credit card reciept to the manager in the front and asked for an itemized. After reviewing the itemized I realized the server charged me for the vanilla cream soda that was supposedly out of stock. The manager took the soda off my reciept and compd a beer for us as well. The manager did a good service recovery and was very hospitable. I just don't understand why we weren't left with an itemized reciept and why the server would leave the soda on our reciept. It just seemed unethical and seemed like he was intentionally trying to charge us for items we did not recieve. I don't know if that's the case or not but it definitely left a bad taste. It was just a lot of small things that built up a negative experience for us. I understand we came late in the evening and ordered off the happy hour menu but that shouldn't default us to...

There were 3 gentlemen at the front counter when we walked in. We were not greeted. They continued talking so we stood waited about a minute or so,it was when I decided to sit down at the waiting bench, we were asked "table for 3?", I found this odd considering the place was still empty and there were a few patrons at the bar area and a couple seats filled in the dining area. We made it in just a few minutes before 4 pm, right when they serve the prime steak special. Which my husband and I both got. My daughter got the bistro burger. When we got our meals, the server (not the one who took our order) who delivered my food, tipped the plate down, spilling the juice of the meat unto the table. So I asked for a paper napkin, and my husband asked for A1 sauce. It was 10 minutes in...they had forgotten about the spillage and the A1 sauce. Our server (who took our order) then came. We addressed him about what was going on. By this time we had ate half our meal and was ready to go. My daughter's food was bitter, her burger patty was burn to a black crisp. (She asked for medium well) The two pieces of prime ribs were drastically different in portions. We asked for one to be medium and one medium rare, both came medium. The asparagus were not trimmed on the ends where fibers were hard to chew, and the rice pilaf was dry. I enjoyed my drinks, mash potatoes, and my calamari, which I think is one of the best of any places I've ate at. The manager sent us home with another bistro burger, fresh fries, and our cookie desserts. She took the burger off our bill, and replaced it. Thank you. The cookies were fresh and hot out of the oven, it was included as part of our meal. It would have been delicious, but it was still raw. It was a huge cookie, so it could have been rushed out of the oven. I patron at many, many restaurants, both higher end and more affordable . I wish BJs had better quality food for it's price. I've had better service at Shari's. Also we had a host who took a while to greet us, a server who took our orders, another who took our drink orders, and two others who delivered our food. This made the experience less personable. My server was good, another guy had great energy...the manager did everything she could to make it right. We understand food will always be a hit and miss, and can be corrected. But the service should be at the highest standards. We still left a little over...
